about me

Hey, so a little about me...

My first anime was Sailor Moon, which I watched constantly when I was a kid. Until recently I didn't begin watching any anime again, but my younger sister is a huge fan and she got me started on a bunch of series. My favorite anime is Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, with Baccano, Cowboy Bebop, etc. all among my favorites as well. I don't read as much manga (even though I LOVE reading), but my favorite manga is also Fullmetal Alchemist.

Outside of anime...I have a lot of extremely random interests. I am obsessed with silent film and film history in general. Seriously, I am in love with the silent era though, especially Buster Keaton. I completely adore history in general, and love reading books about history, and really any kind. Lately I've been reading a lot about European history, mostly Tudor England, the Middle Ages, that sort of thing.

Ok let's see, I also love the 1960s, mostly the music, fashion, movies. My favorite books include The Catcher in the Rye, The Great Gatsby, and of course the Harry Potter series (seriously I quote these books ALL THE TIME.) I am also addicted to Avatar the Last Airbender and the Legend of Korra, and especially Avatar, it's one of my favorite series ever. I am in love with football (American...sorry, futbol fans!) and play tennis a lot. And thank god too, or I would probably look awful considering how I spend most of my time eating and laying on the couch watching TV. I love animation in general...my favorite movies (outside of my beloved silent/B&W films) are Pixar and Disney movies. I love animated movies and shows in general, not just anime.

I am extremely sarcastic. I sound a little like Hobbes from Calvin & Hobbes sometimes. I enjoy quoting movies a lot, my favorite quotable one is This is Spinal Tap (takeaway line: "It's like, how much more black could this be? And the answer is none. None more black.") I also manage to annoy people by quoting a lot of other stuff like the above-mentioned Harry Potter. Since I practically live at my computer, I spend most of my time on Sporcle and this lovely site called TV Tropes which has ruined my life (haha, actually I've just gotten addicted to it and cannot function without it anymore...sadly...) as well as YouTube which I actually used to completely hate but now am totally addicted to.

Yes, Lucky Star is boring as hell and I am halfway into it and I plan on finishing it and getting that show behind my back. Did you know that Vic Mignogna will be at Sakura-con this year? One of my best friends (who goes by "BlackAngelReinae" on here) is super excited about that because she really likes some of his performance. If I ever get to say a few words to Mr. Mignogna when I'm at the convention, I will personally tell him that he was terrific as Edward Elric in both Fullmetal Alchemist animes and no...this is not me trying to get the fangirls' favor by saying this... On my own personal experience in watching the show, I thought he played the role in both shows terrificly. Also, about my Germany cosplay, when I play Rock Band at Sakura-con (which is really there) I am hellbent on playing the vocals for Rammstein's "Du Hast" because the song is obviously in German and I wanted to do that for the sake of humor and badass-edry. My friend (the one with the username I mentioned) is going as Prussia and Edward Elric (I think). This same friend heavily suggested me to go as Germany this year and after taking the time to consider, I decided to go with it. Originally I was planning on going as Italy, but I would have to act like a damn coward all the time and having to constantly use a high-pitch voice just for fun. I think that's why female cosplayers go as Italy more often than men do. I plan on taking some pictures and some videos and I plan on putting all that on YouTube and all the works. It would most likely turn into a very fun weekend like it was the year before. I actually like anime conventions because it's obvious that I'm pretty much a fan of anime like everyone else there. That's kind of another reason I write anime reviews as well. Hell, I'm even thinking of starting a podcast series someday but that won't be till a long while.

Well that's all I can think of concerning Lucky Star, and the convention. I also noticed that there's a Chinese Resturant on my way from home that has the name "Lucky Star" on it. I've never been there and I might check it out after watching the show as a little joke. Not so sure on that.

This is Giovanni, The 8th Gym Le..(uh...) That actually is my name believe it or not, I actually noted that on some of my reviews.

With that said, signing out...

I just reviewed Gurren Lagann, and I'm in the middle of reviewing FLCL, Even though that's posted, it's still incomplete and I need to get back on it. Also, After I finish watching and review another anime called "Lucky Star", I am going to take a brief break because I planning on getting ready to go to the anime convention Sakura-con. I already registered for the convention and I am very excited at this point. I will be going as Germany from Hetalia, and also America from the same show. Zhis vill be my third time going to the convention and my second in a row. That's kind of a little reason why my A-P avatar is Germany

Sorry it took me awhile to respond, I was doing a couple of reviews (Romeo x Juliet and Berserk) and I forgot to message you back but I got your message. I think I'll do another review of a Miyazaki movie. Seeing this is February, I think I'll go for Howl's Moving Castle. I remember seeing it a couple of times and I enjoyed it. Here's an outline of what I plan on reviewing in the meantime albeit not in order.

Baccano! (This one will be fun to talk about, and it's going to be my next one)

Gurren Lagann (JUST WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AM!?)

Eureka Seven (I'm done procrastinating over this one, I've wanted to see this show for some time, it seems interesting)

Howl's Moving Castle

Great Teacher Onizuka (My brother is trying to get me to watch this one)

The Vision of Escaflowne (plus the movie)

Lucky Star (No comment)

Look forward to any of the reviews if you're familiar with the animes listed above.

Until then... have a good day
