People like what people like. I don't necessarily think that my favorite anime are anime that you would enjoy, but I enjoyed them.
My ideal anime are either:
(1) Well thought-out, with multi-faceted characters, interesting themes, and real consequences for choices. (Ef ~ Tale of Melodies, Madoka)
Or,
(2) Pleasant and joyful anime with simple themes and a "nice" overall feel. (Kobato, Aria Series, Special A, Manabi Straight)
But many anime really can't be categorized. For example, Hana-Saku Iroha has aspects from both of the above "categories".
A Note: School Days shouldn't be hated simply because of the actions of the characters. Obviously you don't agree with what the characters do, but that's what the studio was going for. (Trololo.) It's -supposed- to be a distinct anime, and it is.

want to watch Moyashimon? oh man nick... good luck with that. Its not terrible but i just lost interestthe openings and ed's are pretty coo THO XD
slice of life are usually borning and the same. (of course generic action anime *cough naruto bleach ect are all the same as well)that's why i dropped/stalled K-On is because nothing happened. If it's a 'nice' anime there has to be at least some plot to make me want to watch more. I tried watching hidimari sketch and it was completley boring so i stopped watchingplotless slife of life anime have to be funny to keep me entertained (Luckystar/Nichijou)I would bet that Nichijou has more plot/developement than quite a few slice of life anime
