mmmm, given the short list of shows you've seen, it's probably the darkest one yet for you, except for perhaps elfen lied. It's a different sort of dark than the outright violence of elfen lied, though, much more along the lines of suspense.

Second of all, what sorts of shows do you like? My natural tendency these days if you like mystery, depth of story and character, and a dark atmosphere is to recommend Kara no Kyoukai: Garden of Sinners, which is my current favorite show. However, if that doesn't sound like it quite fits your bill, I'd be happy to rec some other shows.
As for knk, my personal description always goes something like this: knk is a dark fantasy show with horror/suspense elements and philosophical undertones. It has stunning visuals and soundtrack, strong character development, an immersive story, intriguing, thought-provoking themes, and a good balance of action and exposition.
