P.S. Groar, I wrote it out rather quickly in the hopes that I'd be able to send it to you before you got offline. Hopefully it still makes sense when you read it! xD
haha, I absolutely HATE the wait (I don't use that word too often); it drives me crazy. And in the past when I've tried to do it that way, I've quickly lost interest during the wait. So I much prefer to be able to watch at my own pace.
Quick, look out! Another email from me is incoming in a few minutes! :D
Lol I was a pretty big reader but lately I haven't really been reading much. Unfortunately I am not familiar with either writers you mentioned, and as for Game of Thrones, I want to eventually read/watch because everyone I know has told me nothing less than "Its the best show ever, it follows the books to the letter, Martin is a genius, etc." Some authors whose works I have read are Herbert's (Dune, and the "newer" ones by his son and Anderson), Terry Brooks, some spin-offs by Weiss outside of the DL franchise (which I have read extensively), Scott Card (There is supposed to be a movie coming out for Ender's Game, which I am kind of dreading).
Yes I believe me and Minai are going to go ahead with the AoT plan. Minai doesn't like watching ongoing series, but I don't mind. Ill probably start within this week!
Oh cosplay, huh? I've always wanted to do cosplay, but I have never been to any anime cons (Strangely, even though I have been to comic con and one video game con). Anyways as for who I would cosplay, I have no idea. Im guessing it would have to be someone that I resemble, to some extent. And of course someone who is badass. :p I will let you know when I am done watching Steins;Gate; considering your and Minai's varied opinions, I am curious to see which end I will end up leaning towards.
Also, I posted up a "review" of both AnoHana and Garden of Words on Minai's page if you are interested in seeing my opinions on them. They are quite brief as I feel that despite the ratings I gave, their respective plots did not merit extended discussion.
Oh, and do you know when attack on titan ends its' original run? I don't want to start on it until all the episodes are out. I *hate* waiting; I will not watch ongoing series as a rule.
As to Wolf Children, it's a bit corny, but at the same time, it's got that down to earth quality that a good slice of life has, without being boring. I'm just a bit ambivalent about it at the moment because I didn't have much of an emotional reaction to it; I feel like I've seen it before somewhere, in a way. At the same time, I can't really think of anything particularly wrong about it; the characters were interesting, the artwork was very nice, and it had a somewhat interesting ending. I dunno, maybe I"m just jaded. It holds a *very* high rating on ap.com, top ten if I remember correctly, and not without a reason. I'd just like your opinion so that I can decide if I really am jaded, or if there is something missing that I just can't pinpoint. One way or the other, it is a very good watch. I'd give it nothing less than 4/5.
