What I really liked about this anime, aside from some very meaningful thoughts at the ending, was that it had a good balance of many elements. It was funny without being gag-y, cute without being obnoxious, serious without being depressing, and dark without being hopeless. It showed many sides of stories that touched on various social issues, and managed to also show the backstories of various characters in ways that advanced the plot and didn't stall it. Overall, I felt that it was a solid series with more value than just simple entertainment.
