My name is Matthias. I'm an eightteen years old guy living somewhere in a rather big village in the Flemish part of Belgium. When I first started watching anime, I was immediately hooked by the style of the genre, and I still am. Not only did anime let me think about lots of things I didn't even consider before, like who I actually am, to myself and to others, or what I was going to do with my life after I'd done with studying, or how I was going to chase the dreams I wished come true, but it also satisfied the never-ending hunger of my imagination and even gave me inspiration, and most of all, the motivation to create new stories by myself.
But enough about myself, let me tell you a bit more about my tastes.
In the beginning, I (mostly) only watched fantasy and supernatural series. Well, actually any series with a fantasy or supernatural element in it would do. After a little while, I discovered other genres, such as slice of life/drama or horror (you could include that in the fantasy/supernatural genre, but in the beginning I was against everything that had a lot of gore involved in it). Now, I still watch mainly fantasy, but I've also grown fond of drama/romance series.
As for my favorite series, I have a few I really really like:
Bakemonogatari (and the others in the monogatari series), higurashi, toradora!, to love-ru, log horizon...
A lot of different genres, and I still like them all in their own way. My rating system gives an overview of which series I thought were best executed and which ones I like the most (you can say it's 75% subjective and 25% objective, if not less). Even if I know a specific element in a series was bad, I could still have enjoyed it a lot and given it a lot of stars. By giving a series three stars, it doesn't mean it's bad. It means I didn't enjoy it as much as other series, and probably that has something to do with the way the series is presented (story, animation, ...).
If you have any questions/recommendations or whatnot, feel free to send me a message :)
Thank you for reading and have a nice day!
