About me... not much to tell, really.

I love pasta, screamo, and RPG's.

I have rather eclectic tastes in most things, particularly food and music, and try not to exclude anything based on how odd it may seem at first.

I'm a dog person, not because I hate cats, but simply because they don't tend to jump on your head until you wake up (true story, that).

I enjoy researching and collecting knives and firearms, not because I'm some kind of Rambo-wannabe freak, but rather because I find them aesthetically pleasing. I know, weird.

I am just as likely to watch something like Hellsing as I am to watch Kare Kano; again with the eclectic taste thing.

I like anime with strong female leads, not as some adolescent male reverse power-fantasy figure, but because it's a wonderfully empowering symbol of what women can accomplish; I also recognize that this has somewhat become the de facto standard of both anime and video games, and that it could lead to the dilution and ultimate cheapening of the image, becoming instead a vulgar cash-in without a meaningful exploration of the archetype. (Phew, that was a mouthfull.)

Anyway, that's about all I can think of right now to sum myself up, and if you actually read all of this, I'm shocked and flattered.

OH i don't mind a bit of fluff here aand there, its just the creativity of the author that caught my attention.

I intend of taking up the Hellsing OVA again, i dropped it becuase the story changed and i was really into the TV series, so i thought the OVA was hypocritical. However many people told me it is better than the TV series and i want to see if that is true.

About Madlax, i am interested in all those government conspiracy theories going around so Madlax pretty much nailed it. I am aware of all the cons of Madlax and pointed them out in my review. I think my rating was a bit too high but my bias gets in the way :P

Anyways thansk for the comments and recommendatons. My "Want to Watch" list is growing at an alarming rate becuase of my daily anime watching limit (due to internet limit) but i will definitly add Noir and the other one you mentioned in it. Oh and i don't mind rambling on my profile at all! :D Please feel free to do so, it just gives me more to read :)

Tee, no worries~  I do like a person who can appreciate the finer qualities of fermented curd... *brick'd* e_o;  Also, food, music, pasta, and sharp, pointy weapons = WIN

Thanks. I don't know how good my taste is (I simply enjoy what I enjoy) but Gunslinger Girl is definately one of my favorite anime and manga. Triela is my fave girl with Rico and Claes coming in very close seconds.

The first season of Gunslinger Girl only covers the first two volumes of the manga and Gunslinger Girl: Il Teatrino covers the "Pinocchio" (vol. 3 and 4). Season one mostly adheres to the manga plot but it does deviate from the manga in some areas (Elsa's story arc being one area, and the ending of the anime is a bit misleading), but I did not find any of the changes to be out of place .  Art and music is top notch and there is a lot of attention to detail for the firearms, so if you collect you will probably appreciate that.

Il Teatrino follows the manga plot fairly closely with  few deviations as well but I found them to be more annoying as some of the changes don't seem to have a purpose or they change the mood of a scene drastically from the manga (the ending scene between Hilshire and Triela is a good example of this to me, but your mileage may vary). The art style has been changed to more closely resemble the changes the manga art style takes in later volumes. Though I do like the new Openings and Endings, I found the rest of the musical score to be a bit lacking in comparison to season one.

And now I'm going to stop as I seemed to have gotten off topic, since you only asked how it compared to the manga and I am ranting about the differences between seasons, lol. Overall, both seasons and the OVAs are a must see for any Gunslinger Girl manga fan.

I'm probably going to watch the Anime aswell, but I just bought 'Darker Than Black', 'Witch Hunter Robin' and the question arcs for the Higurashi manga, so it might take some time.
