To sum up Schwarzesmarken, it's basically the story of operation Valkyrie
or the Nazi coup'dèta that tried to kill Hitler. But, add mechas, aliens, boobs, and a couple 15 year old girls. It keeps your attention with enough fan service and nice military uniforms to pay attention to the political parts while waiting for the robot fight. And The robot fights definitely deliver. You will see a scene where squad of robots mow down thousands of aliens. Blood would splatter all over the screen while the little sister characters says" onii-chan" . Other times, it would be robots vs robots... See full review
Okay, so this is by no means the best show out there. I think you can tell that much from the cover image and description. Having said that, there are undoubtedly shows that are significantly worse, and in my opinion the main flaws of this series are individual aspects, rather than the series as a whole, or the general premise etc.
The setting is fairly interesting; a sort of alternate-history present in which the Kingdom of Selinistan (pretty much always simply called 'The Kingdom') is another major world power with enough global authority to rival America, with its new leader set on global... See full review
For those of you who are like me and take one read of the summary and go 'hell yeah, this sh*t is bound to be hilarious' ... DON'T. Just... seriously, don't even go there! -_-' I don't even know where to begin with what's wrong with this anime! I could start with the juvenile humor... you know, poop jokes. And no, I'm not kidding... The amount of poop jokes in this anime is just too damn high! -_-" Plus, there are also a lot of jokes about body parts (and if you're looking at your lower regions you're on the right track). (⊃﹏⊂) The plot circles around a high school... See full review
Another great idea gone wrong. Pros Absoutely beautiful music Pretty well done action scenes, its quite flashy Fairly intresting character and background design Cons Stupid humor, not funny at all Most of the series is wasted seearching for the jewels and nothing much goes on with the plot. The pacing is terrible Absoutely dull characters: you got the silent "badass" female, the innocent female, the one that yells "HENTAI" at the lead male and you have a noisy and annoying lead male. The plot is too predictable from episode 3 you can easily tell where its going. The script is... See full review
Dropped after 8 eps because Oboro-sama was so annoying... Story - The premise itself is interesting and has the potential to develop. However, the series plateaued for a little too long in the middle. The momentum of the first six episodes was lost during the subsequent two episodes. The long emotional shots of Oboro-sama crying (literally every three minutes) leeched all of the drama out of the show. Animation - The fight scenes were lovely to watch. I loved the stylistic choices of the animators to make the blood really vibrant and shocking. The drawing seemed to be more old school but... See full review
Alright so the story was wierd and crazy at first with robots coming out of the main protagonist head. Not to mention the animation wasn't the best but the anime was from a long time ago and animation doesn't really bother me because all the compaines are diffrent so long as the anime has a good story. The STORY my god this anime was crazy and the story is as well i had to look up what it meant but After reading someones post on another blog i was shocked to see how deep and DARK this anime is! I remembered everything diffrently and this anime is one of the best i watched in a long time Excluding one piece... See full review

Re:ZERO has been one hell of a ride. 25 episodes of intrigue which included depression, euphoria, back stabbing, ext. I was worried it wouldn't keep up with its hype but my worries seem to be misplaced.
An introduction: in the first episode we are introduced to a character named Subaru who is a loner that does not contribute society (NEET). While going out for snacks, he encounters a phenomenon where he is transported to another world. He encounters hardships but is saved by the kindness of a girl named Emilia. He vows from that point on to... See full review
**SPOILER FREE** This anime was boring. Let me just state that. Let me explain myself. The story idea and characters are really good. The story concepts are just amazing and the animation is top notch. The soundtrack is so good that I have it on my iPod. My biggest problem with this anime is that is that it was really boring, slow and caused me to drop it at episode 16. I did not want to watch it anymore. It became a real chore, so I dropped it. It would have something really exciting happen and then it would just go back to boring. Then after and episode or two, it would leave on something really... See full review

After watching Rewrite I am honestly wondering who the hell this anime was made for. Was it for the veteran VN readers or was it some sort of advertisement for the fresh anime watchers? Regardless of their target audience I think that 8-bit has failed miserably.
Story: 2/10 First, an introduction to the story. Kotarou is the main character of the show. The show literally follows him around as he tries to make the most of his high school life. He ends up reviving an old club in order to form memories with his closest friends. These friends include Akane (a... See full review

At first I didn't really think much of Katanagatari. It seemed like a fairly standard series, with an odd art style and weird episode lengths (oh yeah, as a heads up, the episodes are 50 minutes each). However, without me really noticing, the characters and story began to grow on me, quite significantly. The story starts with Shichika, a boy(?) who grew up isolated from society due to his father being exiled, meeting Togame. She is on a quest to find the 12 deviant blades made by a master swordsmith long ago. As the inheritor of a powerful sword style, he is the perfect person to accompany her on her... See full review
This was an excellent well written show that I thought for a time was one of the best I ever saw, until episode 10. By the logic of his own words, doing what he did to himself made no sense. I do not get appologizing for an action you did not cause or if so in such an extreme manor. This single act made the whole show seem ridiculous, ludicrous, and self contradictory. If he had caused that action, aka if he was that idiot genocidal manica imbacile incompetent boob of a general, then maybe that action might at least somewhat make sense. Another great show losing it's way in... See full review

Absolutely disgusting anime. For me it's simple if you want some harsh themes then go and watch some hentai, if you want some naughty humour then go and watch some ecchi comedy, if you want some extreme scenes go watch some porn (or JAV in this case). But who may be interesting in pervert logic of this anime where everybody lost their minds and just push some girl do strange things in her 16. It's just like hentai without open scenes or ecchie but with more rough scenes and all this happening on background of ignorant characters.See full review
THE BEST ANIME OF ALL TIME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great Story and works by Shinkai Makoto Sensei. So touched at the end of the film my heart felt warm and fuzzy from inside.
The setting and emotions and voice acting was epic. Hope such anime keep coming.

Since I watched these two back to back I couldn’t help but to compare them to each other. And since there both romance anime’s I mostly compared the romance between the two of them. Makoto Shinkai never fails to amaze and surpass your expectations. With a funny, but twisting movie that leaves you amazed at not just the artwork, but the creativity in the story created. I will start by saying that this is a prequel to the manga the ancient magus bride which any is welcome to read!!! So I first the OVA information on this series and thought that the art and story line where out of this world. As the series isn't finished yet and the first OVA episode was released on the internet today I can't say for sure what the actual story line is. Obviously it's about a magically special girl and the humanoid creature that takes her in and their future relationship because the title literally is... See full review

I'm mad This review contains lethal doses of spoilers, handle with care. This review is only based on the anime material, and first season only; i played the first visual novel start to finish, with all the backstories unlocked etc, but this won't have any influence in my judgement, despite eventual callbacks to the game contents. At first you think this anime should be called Blood-Moe. The first four episodes are basically Saya eating, walking around, singing, checking out small animals, and talking with her friends about nothing. Saya then fights a generic monster and constantly loses until her eyes turn red and she beats it in like one strike. Once episode 5 hits, the anime turns into being mostly about gore. We're talking the start of deadman wonderland type gore. The only problem is, the gore is so over the top that it's almost comical. By the final episode they ramp up the senseless gore to 11 and then it ends abruptly... See full review
Seeing how this movie quickly jumped to the top of MAL ratings, I just had to check it out. Last time that happened, it was with Erased and we all saw how overrated that one was. So, here I am watching the movie, wondering what could possibly be the reason it was rated so high, and why everybody calls it the best anime of all times, only to realize it’s because it is exactly like Erased.

I really enjoyed the second season.
The character development was brilliant and I especially like how we learnt more of Koro-Sensei's past especially how he cared about Aguri and how he had learnt to protect his students, so that if the students ever get into a situation that Aguri got into then he'd know how to save one of his students.
I enjoyed this season so much more than the first season. The ending was perfect, the way they ended the season, the last few episodes brought tears to my eyes and that has only been possible by a few animes that I've watched. If you're planning on watching a... See full review

Is the *monogatari series finally played out? Koyomimonogatari kinda feels like it. It's not straight up ecchi nonsense with a few moments of cool... but it does feel more like a victory lap for a series that's wrapped up. The visuals, as usual, are stylistic and spectacular, just as we'd come to expect from the series. The audio is again on point. There are stories which are mildly supernatural in nature, but leaning more towards the mystery side of things. This is a reblurring of the lines between the supernatural and psychology, the dual-interpretation behind the series. While in the past, it has leaned... See full review

Right, it's confession time for me. If you have been reading my reviews than you may have noticed that I tend to rip the anime a new one. There is a reason for this though and it has to do with the fact that I can't turn my brain off when watching anime. I can't ignore the stupid shown in the anime and this is a problem as most anime are very stupid indeed. In this case I'm not talking about a 90 pound girl catching a multi-ton cruise missile and throwing it back. Yes, it is stupid but it is a stupid that I'll allow. It's anime. Things like this are normal here and I'm pretty much fine with it. It annoys... See full review
What a beautiful story line with amazing cinematography! Having just finished watching this amazing movie, I felt compelled to write this review to shed some light in this masterpiece. Story Kimi no Na wa is an amazing movie following the lives of two teens that somehow have a connection. The reason/purpose of this connection is a(s you guessed it) not initially clear, but as the story goes on we are not only left with a deep understanding of the reasoning per se, but also with an appreciation for the spiritual/fated sense of life. Confusing statement? Make sure you give this movie a chance so you can... See full review
I love this anime. I loved it so much I read a decent chunk of the manga after I finished it. Then I got frustrated and gave up because the storylines start to cycle and lose originality Story - Most likely the first anime (that I can remember) that I have seen with this plotline. Spoiled princess sees is expelled from her castle after her father is executed and her fiance usurps the throne. At first the enemy is clear but the subtle nuances of politics and governing begin to shine through in a satisfying way. Animation - Yona's hair is gorgeously animated. There's no weird jumps or odd facial... See full review
I watched Attack on Titan all in one go over a Thanksgiving Break where I was completely alone in the dorms, so my response may be skewed by that fact that I lived on almonds for a few days while watching an anime about humanoids eating humans... Story - The premise of this anime is where the originality begins and ends. The story was the same stereotypical "special boy" arc that is so popular in action animes. Animation - The animation 100% carries this anime. The action scenes are awesome, the titans grotesque. If all you're looking for is pretty action sequences you will be... See full review
Story: First off, who names their kid Santa? If you're born on St. Paddies day, are you named Patrick? Or on New Years Eve, are you named Eve? No! Loser things happen to him and then in a span of 30 seconds from the end of his monologue, give or take a few seconds, he meets Santa Santa. You know, the Santa chick. Dropped after ep. 3 Story - I never read the manga, but based on the anime (including the Golden Age Arc movies) I would say that the only satisfying way to consume this story is through the manga. The world is too complex to be sufficiently covered by the time/money budgeted for it. There are gaping plot holes, jumps in dialogue and storylines, and if you didn't watch the movies or know the premise then you would be too confused to keep up at all (I had to look up Apostles because that's how crappy the jumps and backstory are). Animation - The only reason I wouldn't rate the animation 1/10 is for... See full review
I really loved this movie. At first I was just like 'oh it's in the top fifty. Why not?'... Best random decision this past month. MY VERDICT IS: WORTH THE WATCH Something about Toradora felt good to me, despite the fact that I can't really pick out any parts of it that are unique. It has a bunch of common tropes -- the oblivious main character, the energetic one, the silly mother, the otherwise-nondescript "best friend," the mean but somehow mature one, and of course the tsundere. So, a lot of really common characters. But somehow, it felt like they tried to take those characters and expand on them beyond their tropes. There were moments where characters broke from their predictable behavior and fleshed out their... See full review

This movie reminds one heavily of a few other films with very similar themes such as "Lake House" (2006), "Sliding Doors" (1998), "Somewhere in Time" (1980), "Frequency" (2000), "Time After Time" (1979), "Retroactive" (1997) and well quite a few more, but those are just a few I can name right off the bat. All these movies involve very similar stories and themes, aka time travel, communication to past events, and preventing some sort of disaster. So the theme is not all that new for this anime movie nor per say is the story generically... See full review
Will contain some spoilers. Story The story revolves around two characters who suddenly start switching bodies with each other, and have to live each others lifes. Even though I have previously watched movies about people switching bodies, this one felt different. It starts like your typical film, but then it turns for the better. I would have liked if they would have explanined why exactly the whole 'switching bodies' was happening, and why it was those two characters who were having these experiences. Was it simply because they were meant to be together, or maybe because they had to save the... See full review
Another "DVD Special" that is really just a normal episode, but there might be some method to their madness of why. Story - 7/10 So the reason I think this episode, along with the Shipboard Shoot's Conclusion, are DVD only episodes is due to their subject matter. So far throughout the series the episode have been more on the lighter side, with most episodes being about the gang stopping another spy organization or just a little fun filler episode. On the other hand this episode, and the Episode Zero Prologue, both deal with human trafficking operations in China, a subject they might... See full review
This has become a new one I reccomend to people who like the SAO, and Log Horizon type animes. It's not overly deep, and frankly it's a silly little story. That said, I was hooked from beginning to end, and it felt like a complete arc which is rarer than I'd like in a lot of anime. If I get another season, great. If not, it stands well on its own. I enjoy a good love story, and this mostly qualifies.See full review
