This was a beautiful short watch.
There was no narration at all, and there wasn't much reasoning behind the character's motives, but it was beautiful to watch the main character pursue his dream.
The music and gorgeous animations made me quite emotional (epecially the ending), and I definitely recommend it if you love watching the fluid movements of a figure skater.
It is a short 6min animation, and can be found on youtube.
Considering it's a 6 minute animation, it is very difficult to rate against other OVA's and TV shows. Either way, I think it was... See full review
Like many other of the better grade of anime, this one didn't get enough seasons or episodes to truly tell the whole story. It will leave you hanging but it is one heck of a ride until you get to the end. Think Tokyo Ghoul and Seraph of the End crossed and you will have some idea of what this series entails. I am a bit shall we say disturbed and not fully satisfied with the ending and what happens to Sakura. However, this series did one hell of a job through out the show. At times the pacing might be a bit too slow or others too fast, but overall it works out pretty well... See full review
I have to admit to something. I watched this anime a very long time ago, but there are not many reviews for it. There are no spoilers I promise. It started out slow for me and I stopped watching it twice. Once I got a few episodes in I was hooked. If you end up watching this anime your going to notice that it seems like a lot of newer shows copy the story line from silent mobius (or try to but fail). The story was very different and gave me depths that I would never expect from a 1998 anime series. The art is of course old, but for it's time it was probably awesome. Without a doubt S+ for... If you are in the mood to watch a story about bunch of high school students using the power of friendship to solve the mystery and save the day, Persona 4 is a good choice. It's the anime version of the typical young adult story: Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Twilight, Maze Runner. List goes on and on but you can get the point why this series exist and has fanboys.
It's a wacky premise. Kids get thrown into TVs. Making friends gives you the power to create Personas. The kids summon personas to fight other personas.
Story wise, it is follows a long running anime format with 2-3 episode character arcs... See full review
So, I'll tell you right off the bat, I have a problem with this anime. This review won't spoil the plot, but it will talk about the ending in a non-specific way. I'll also talk about the story last. So let's begin. The animation is beautiful. Like, amazing. The style wouldn't work for some other anime, but for this series, in part because it's a fantasy series, it works extremely well. The character designs are unique, and the background genuenly looks like how a fantasy world should. It's the kind of art you end up staring at for a while before you get used to it. If I'd have to find a negative with the... See full review

A melting pot of references that give for a freshening experience If you like: Ghost in the Shell, Experiments Lain, Cowboy Bebop, Black Mirror, Philip K Dick, The Fifth Element. Although most of its themes have already been approached in another form, this anime is still able to keep its audience's attention. The story maintains a constant level of quality throughout and doesn't rely on gimmicks. 100 years in the future, crimes can be detected before they are committed, thanks to a psycho-pass, a device which monitors the criminal potential of all citizens. I have only watched a few episodes of this anime, but already I am enjoying it immensely. The story is definitely sci-fi, but it has a deep characterisation for the main characters. You will also find a bit of action, romance, and adventure. The story is interesting and definitely kept me guessing. The sounds in this anime are awesome to listen to and fit the story well. Spoilers: Having met in the past these two are very opposite from each other. One a smart and fun loving outdoors type and the other is from the far future who perfers the stoney and cold futuristic technology and atmosphere. The two... See full review
I finally decided to watch this anime last month, I have heard about it before but never really had the time for it. Akatsuki no Yona is a very colorful anime about a princess who's been driven out of her home after seeing her father being murdered in front of her, she then decides to take up arms and solve the problems within the kingdom that her father never could because he was weak as a ruler. BUT... like every other anime, there are some flaws and weaknesses. and I will state what bothered me the most in this anime 1- EEEEvery thing is sooo bright and easygoing: there are NO... Kapelteta is a half demon so the anime says but how she came to be makes no sense in light of previous descriptions of demons and watching them in action. All they do is kill and destroy so how is it possible for one to have fathered her? Yes we have another example of a setting the creators forgot to pay attention to and as a result we have things that just do not add up. Magic is depicted as essentially using bullets so it never gives you quite the sense the 'sorcerists' (another made up word that doesn't make sense) have to use any of their own power and if they do not then how can they... This episode takes the story from the Future Arc, and mixes in the characters from the Despair Arc to add a finish to the Future Arc. I found this ending to add very little that wasn't obviously going to happen. On top of that, it actually tossed on more questions and confusion by showing Nanami and Kyouko in the scenes. Something about an AI or imaginary image? The story of the 2 Arcs was doing just fine without having ever played the game, but this must either be explain in one of the games or just tossed in, either way it was a poor choice when a good chunk of viewers will most likely not have played the... Here is another anime that while has an exciting foundation and is quite similar to both the Howling and Werewolf of London, is filled with illogical story elements that make it hard to obtain the 'suspension of disbelief". The "Suspension of disbelief" is a state required for most of your more imaginative stories. You usually acheive this through: a good solid setting; or a story that is only slightly unreal; or a story based on some reality that is more legend or myth but connects to history or reality; or by a gradual but skilled development of a setting that slowly pulls you... The plot is kinda confusing and the characters' facial expressions kinda looks emotionless but the songs and performances are hella GREAT. ESPECIALLY THE PERFORMANCE FOR TSUKI NO UTA. WATCH THE LAST EPISODE GUYS. THE ENTIRE EPISODE IS A JOINT CONCERT BETWEEN GRAVI AND PROCELLA. I'VE NEVER WATCH AN ANIME LIKE THIS. THE ENTIRE EPISODE,OKAY?!! fuckk They performed 15 songs in total, 2 unit songs, 12 solo songs and 1 joint unit song. They talked abit during the concert (Shun showing his fanboyness towards Hajime) But this story would be better if it have a better story plot ^o^See full review

I'm not going to go into a ton of detail because this show is not worth the time. i just wanted to offer a counter too all the undeserved praise this show is getting. i will however, talk about some general points so that people who are thinking about watching this show should most likely stay away from it. Score Disclaimer: 1=the worst of the worst 5= average 10= perfection. Reviewing the show as it is in progress; evaluations are prone to change. Drifters has a lot of hype behind it. Hellsing has an iconic place in anime history, and this is supposedly what comes next from the people behind it... and boy does it show. The art style is distinct and very much geared to be memorable, it has the same bits of silliness interspersed in the super-seriousness, and there are plenty of people getting hacked to bits. These are all good things. But people forget that while Hellsing is definitely awesome, it isn't all that great as a show. Sure, it's not bad, but it isn't great... See full review
i usually wait till i have watched something whole but this time there is no need to. episode 4 just came out and while the season so far has been perfect i just can`t believe how an anime about volley can be so damn good.the episode was crazy good ,it gave me goosebumps and it made cheer or frawn for every point won or lost.in the end one or two manly tears run down my cheek because of the intensity. season 1 was almost 5/5 material, season 2 was of course 5/5 perfection manifested and season 3 is already 10/5.i really haven`t felt like that for an anime since....propably one piece(not even kidding).so... most reviews for this anime are between 2 and 7. 4.5 seems to show up a couple times. I would agree. I see what this anime was trying to do. It tried at some interesting animation styles. It tried to fit a deep lore and full story into 12 episodes.
but lets face it. regardless of what they tried, what I viewed. . sucked.

I was surprised when I found out that this movie was similar to The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, because I didn't enjoy the ending to that at all. This ending was good (no spoilers). Story: I rated it a 8 on the story because yeah some parts were unique but it was cliche in other places and was, overall, predictable. However, I didn't think it was that cliche so I only took off 2 points. Animation: The animation was amazing mainly because of the ammount of detail. Most of the anime's I've watched don't have as much detail (given they are older). Sound: I rated the sound a 5 for two reasons. A)... See full review

Heads up: This is not a review for just the first season of XY; it's a full review for all of XY.
Pokemon XY has done the impossible for me. It has somehow reignited the fire inside me for watching Pokemon. Once the Diamond and Pearl episodes were finished, I lost pretty much all desire to watch anything Pokemon related (since the Pokemon Adventures manga is 10000x better). What got me back into Pokemon though was the sheer amount of reputable YouTubers stating that “Pokemon is back!” Story: 7/10 Got to say, I was not expecting to be... See full review
I have seen this show many times. It is pretty good overall but not quite perfect. Two reasons for that are Ren and Ayano. Ren's voice is so squeaky chipmunk and unnatural like that it is annoying to the ears and begins to sound like fingernails on the chalkboard. Ayano is a pretty good character all around but there is a limit to how many times one can watch her blow her top and mess things up while at the same time she never learns to control her temper or even improve that control enough to avoid, deflect, or stave it off the next time. Kazuma is a great character though who... See full review
This anime was a hot mess...but I couldn't stop watching it. I agree with those above there are soo many social and morale things wrong here, but at moments it is funny. Be wary of getting sucked in! Apparently I can't give 0 scores or otherwise I would have on story/sharacters.See full review
I'm not sure what to feel about this. It was so psychedelic that it made my mind abandon alll rationality, which is a rare occurance and isn't something that happens often. That said, I think I liked it. The art was beautiful and the story, though a bit difficult to follow, was sweet and depressing. The randomness and downright insanity of the piece has a logic to it that is both made clear at the end and complicated by the end. You have to go into this with an open mind; that's the only way you can enjoy it. The uniqueness of it all messes with the mind. The entire thing is like "Pink... See full review

She and Her Cat: Everything Flows is amazing. Running four episodes that without the opening and ending are under six minutes a piece, it is more poetry than storytelling in order to achieve an emotional impact. And yes, it's yet another melancholic piece by Makoto Shinkai, and yes, he still works far better in shorter forms than he ever did in his longer ones. You can say many things about this, but She and Her Cat: Everything Flows is extremely well crafted and thought through. It is not to be compared to most anime, because what it does is fundamentally different from a literary perspective. It is... See full review

Dusk Maiden of Amnesia, is an anime about a ghost girl who has been trapped in a school for many decades. Only some people can see her, including the main character, Niiya. Niiya wants to solve the mystery of Yuuko, the ghost girl, who has no memories of her death, or anything from when she was alive. Kouichi is one of the biggest pricks ever to take on the mantle of anime main character or hero. Like so many other anime with heroic figures, magical powers, superpowers or some other extraordinary gift or ability. Why anime studios love to portray crap hero characters is beyond me. Sometimes, ya it might be different or refreshing or you might have a jackhole who is so annoying but somehow in a good way you might end up liking him or her or it somehow works and meshes well with the story. I honestly tried giving animation a 12 over 10, but couldn't, but say I actually did. It's just... perfect. Damn. This is based just on the 4 currently available eps, but it's already mesmerizing enough to leave a review. Even a short one like this: It's been a very long time since I've watched anything so well done. It's just impeccably produced. No flaws (to me) whatsoever. The story flows nicely, the characters seem well rounded so far, and it's complete eye candy. And by eye candy I don't (just) mean it's because of the characters, it's the beauty and fluidity of the movements and all... See full review
The recent flavor of the week is Shelter, a music video that resulted from a passion project. It’s nice to see passion projects coming into fruition but I am not going to give it a pass just for being one. Misty Chronexia is a passion project as well but it’s not exactly something to be thrilled about, is it now?
Shelter is nicely animated, and I am again not going to give it a pass just for that. Pretty colors can go fuck themselves if they are a self-purpose instead of dressing for a good story and well written characters. Something which you will of course not find in a 6 minute music... See full review
Overall this anime decent. You get what you are supposed to. It is based on otome game so it's not like there is a real love story in there. The reason I liked this anime more than other ones based on otome games is because it focuses more on plot and character development than on falling in love with the girl. Still, since it's more of af friendship based story, there isn't much of a plot. This sort of blends in with character though because some of the character background stories are actually quite nice. I wanted more closure at the ending with the final turning point. The animation is good, and the... See full review

For some reason this almost feels like a more fantasy/monster/magic version of Men in Black. You have a group that works under the radar of the conventional system. A separate world where creatures of various backgrounds hide in plain sight from the normal humans. The group in question acts as sort of a police force to keep creatures in line and hidden from normal humans. Both stories show these groups have allies and agents among the creatures. Roger Rabbit coincidentally has a similar story and a similar agent that crosses between two worlds and acts as a police force... See full review
Maybe the Japanese love Robin Williams cause essentially, Jun'ichiro is Robin Williams any time he played a teacher in a movie but most probably directly related to "Dead Poets Society". Another source peraps is Richard Mulligan in "Teachers". Drifters is truly amazing right from the get go, the story is a fresh new concept leading up to an amazing showdown, the animation is flawless and the characters are very well made. The only negative thing i have to say about this show is that it's not comming out fast enough.
If you like fantasy and extreme violence then this is right up your ally.
Shelter is a music video everyone overhyped as the best thing ever because of a cute loli with no personality and flashy visuals. The story is basically a bunch of images that show how said loli ends up in a virtual world that her DILF of a scientist dad made to give her a place to live all alone after the world got f'd up for whatever reason. The story isn't all that complex as people say, but rather it's nothing more than mere emotional manipulation and escapism, pretty much what nearly every series coming out in this era of time.
