I didn't know an anime about beans could be this dramatic but here we are. Totally worth watching if you want to witness the Bean Wars and a Vocaloid sing a ballad about her bean family while a bunch of Touhou-looking ass waifus stand crying over her dying body.

I love the concept of this unfortunately falls short.  The first couple of episodes were good and then it went downhill from there.  It was somewhat cheesy and silly and I did laugh at some of the stuff.

I like the animation and story for each episode, I am not too big regarding character development but this show does makes me have a good laugh. Mostly for Akira who gives zero ducks (but with an F) about the end of the world and enjoys each second of it because he isn't at his job

Lately I’ve turned on many series where I’d prefer to have a monster chewing my face off than continue watching, surprisingly the one with monsters eating people’s faces isn’t on that list.  Story - 7/10 Akira Tendo couldn’t be more lucky, he was the star of high school’s rugby team, had great friends, and landed his dream job working for an entertainment production company. But fast forward three years and all he wants to do is kill himself, as his abusive boss has worked him to the bone, and his life outside work is lonely as can be. He’s a perfect... See full review

"Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead" is a refreshing take on the zombie genre, blending humor and heart in a post-apocalyptic world. The protagonist, Akira, adds a unique twist with his desire to embrace the chaos and make the most of his new undead life. The animation is vibrant, capturing the comedic essence while delivering intense action sequences. The character development is well-paced, and the diverse cast brings depth to the narrative. With its clever blend of comedy, emotion, and zombie mayhem, Zom 100 stands out as a delightful and unconventional addition to the genre, offering a... See full review

Very strong first 3 episodes, but episode 4 is where it strayed in a way I didn't care for. Nevermind the (additional) fanservice with a particular skirt. Or the way an "unfortunate" event was handled involving the bearer of said skirt (seriously, wtf, y'all).

I'm sayin' it, Shizuka was drawn that way for fanservice. And don't you dare deny it.
I don't even wanna know what they do with Beatrix tbh.
As for a certain coworker in episode 1, that wasn't handled as well as it should've been. They may have portrayed a reality, but they didn't quite make it clear how... wrong it was. Too... See full review

Long before simulcasts and network distribution of shows became the norm on sites such as Crunchyroll, Zaion was one of the first original net animations (ONA) to truly embrace the internet and debut online. Back in 2001, the idea of watching a show through the internet must have been completely radical and, if the website is anything to go by, Zaion had plenty of supplemental material related to the world, setting, characters and proceedings of the show to help support this venture. Truth be told, with direction by a journeyman of the medium such as Seiji Mizushima (Full Metal Alchemist), writing by... See full review

Kinema Citrus’s entry into the crowded field of utterly-mental High School girls after-school clubs is now over ten years old. How does it hold up? Of course, it is a crowded field with many highly memorable competitors. Everything from “Asobi Asabase” (Lerche 2018) to “O Maidens in Your Savage Season” (Lay-duce 2019) have entertained us with some insanely funny high-jinx since 2013. The 4-panel manga by Komata Mikami started life in 2009 and is, as far as we know, still going. Like its many similar cousins, the show needs no specific plot as it nothing more than an endless... Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs, while sensual and not the most focused in terms of writing, is surprisingly entertaining with a good amount of characterization, some epic moments, and decent storytelling overall. I do appreciate that some of the fan service is done in a creative fashion, not a mean-spirited fashion. The animation is vibrant, stunning, and something I could watch all day, but I think it does have too much filler to shoehorn in fan service, but it doesn't ruin the series overall and I still enjoyed it. Well I was hoping for something that was realistic about ice skating which I enjoy watching, but this just feminized men's ice skating and pushed a woke agenda instead of being realistic.  Yes, I know this is an anime, and it is not based on real life, but still this just went too far with pushing an unrealistic view point onto a sport.  How many gay Russian skaters have you heard of?  I mean they all marry beautiful woman and have kids... well in real life.  It is only very recently there has been any gay ice skaters so I wish this had been more realistic.  They could have made one... This shit proved to be a irritating and nonsensical enjoy, leaving me questioning the coherence of its storyline and the justification in the back of its strange ending. The anime, no matter its preliminary promise, devolved right into a convoluted mess that didn't deliver a satisfying or significant resolution. The narrative, which have to have been the using force behind the collection, ended up being a puzzling amalgamation of disjointed events and unexplained occurrences. Attempts to explore complicated issues and ideas felt muddled and poorly completed, leaving viewers scratching their heads as... See full review

For the entire chapters we see not only pretty recipes, cakes, great competitions and a lot of bakery fairys, but can also see a lot of examples in how these delicious sweets can change one person's life. The primary example would be the main character, Amano Ichigo, and her grandma's strawberry pie. This was a debut short film (<5 mins) that Hayao Miyazaki directed before Princess Mononoke and it was something I randomly stumbled across.  It was abrupt and unfinished so it felt more like a very detailed trailer of an animation series instead. However, you can see how the strong-willed female character arc has always been something Miyazaki pursues in all his creations: unwavering kindness combined with the strength to smile as the world's injustice comes wave after wave. She isn't perfect. Nor is this short film perfect. But I believe its imperfection enhances its beauty and underlying... See full review

Sigh Idk. If I was a bit younger and stupider I would've enjoyed this anime - maybe.  The classic evil villain who shows up every episode and kicks their butts and leaves them crying; and in the last episode, the villain is defeated by a special staff that this random old man had in his possession. The only thing that was different but super annoying was that the villain was possessing their best-friend and older-brother. As such, he gaslights and guilt trips and emotional blackmails and does all this psychological warfare with his face and voice. Idk if I fast-forwarded it a lot or I missed... See full review

I like OVAs when they seem to be done in the spirit of fun.  With Yowamushi Pedal: Special Ride (TMS Entertainment, 2013), it is the only moment that the franchise could do anything 'for fun.'  Created early in the YP story of bicycle racing, the Inter-High is still on the horizon.  The dead serious game of out-competing other schools’ athletic programs is developing.  But Onoda is still riding the hopes of creating an anime club, and team captain Kinjou must get the rookie first-years in line. Think of this OVA as the delicate link between sempai and kohai.  In this case... See full review

"Your Name," directed by Makoto Shinkai, is a beautifully animated and emotionally resonant anime film that weaves a tale of romance, time, and fate. The film follows the lives of two high school students, Mitsuha and Taki, who inexplicably begin to switch bodies while they sleep. As they navigate each other's lives and form a unique connection, they also become entangled in a mystery that spans time and space. One of the standout aspects of "Your Name" is its stunning animation and attention to detail. Makoto Shinkai's artistry is on full display as he captures the beauty of rural... See full review

This anime is truly exceptional. From the first episode, I was hooked and it's a shame that it's not longer. The story follows Kousei, a pianist who rediscovers his passion through his love for Kaori. I found myself glued to my laptop screen for hours on end, eagerly anticipating each new episode. Even though I'm not a piano enthusiast, the beauty of this story still resonated with me on a deep level. The voice acting in Yes, No, Maybe is excellent and the general character design is pretty solid. However, the entire build up of the film was essentially ruined by the SA in final romantic scene. This really was a pity, as the film is actually quite soft and pleasant, and the characters are surprisingly well-rounded and well-written.

This anime has potential but it's way too slow. For each fairy he befriends they slow down the story and spend an episode or two or three to explain their whole backstory, which can be good, but it's just not my thing. The animation is pretty good mostly in the opening (the opening is probably one of the best iv'e seen in a long time.) The sound is pretty good but nothing extraordinary. The characters are pretty normal for an anime nothing out of the ordinary. Overall though I give it a 2/10 just because it's pace is way too slow and you can get bored very easily.

I never write reviews but I had no choice for this one. This donghua is criminally UNDERRATED. The animation is unlike anything I have seen, the choreography is absolutely perfect, the drawing style itself is awesome. I don't mean to say that the popular anime of today has bad animation, however they don't even COMPARE. I'm a huge fan of JJK, AOT, CSM, Bleach...but this is just next level. This anime is good until you get to the second half. To keep it short, it went from a magic girl dark fantasy anime to a generic sci-fi. I appreciate the messages, but again, that doesn’t help the fact that the second half fell flat like Koito falling from a building (I am so sorry for that joke). Would I say I’m disappointed? Yeah. I just couldn't be left on a cliffhanger, I'm currently reading the manhwa and it's much better than the anime!  Personally I found the animation quite odd at times, like the actual colours and background are really good but some angles of the characters looked a bit off? Raeliana and heika (the high priest) are my favourite characters, they're a funny duo Noah seems a bit off to me, I don't hate his character but he's not my favourite, he's just, there

When Supernatural Battles Became Commonplace

Carnufex's avatar

English Despite what the title might suggest, there’s no epic battle or Dantesque combat here. Nor much action, to be honest: this is a high-school harem romance. But there is a catch! Contrary to the soulless, spineless and talentless self-insert losers we usually get, this anime’s protagonist has a very assertive personality (of a shameless chuunibyou, admittedly), and is also genuinely caring and affectionate with his harem, making the girls’ attraction to him believable. The story doesn’t progress much, but that’s okay, I’ll go read the... See full review

When Marnie Was There is an emotional roller coaster. Anna is a relatable character that many people (myself included) can resonate with. Do I think their relationship is romantic in a sense? No. However, I sense that their love is familial. Do I believe that this movie is blatant queer bait? Hard no. Anna (probably) is part of the LGBT community, but that’s perhaps my headcanon. I may have cried four times during this movie, but that doesn't make me less of a man. The big message here is that we shouldn't always keep our problems and insecurities all to ourselves. Overall, I’d give this a... See full review

The story is heartwarming and sad at the same time. A girl who's a sacrifice and didn't get a choice at first, but when she decides to live for herself she watches Tokyo flood. She will probably feel guilty about choosing herself, but she made her decision. Her love was more important to her than if it rains or not. The animation is beautiful, and the story is another one of best romance animes. If you don't like it that's fine, but it was well written and deserves all the recognition it's getting.

Silverlink’s 2013 study of a socially awkward teen seems pretty common currency in anime these days. Certainly, Watamote is great early slice of the genre although it seems to have invoked extremes of reaction. People loved it or hated it. We understand why maybe. It is all too easy to identify with our heroine Tomoko Kuroki to the point that it makes many in the audience uncomfortable. Other critics seems to have misread the show entirely. Tomoko is 15 and just started High School. She imagines that her life will be renewed and all those uncomfortable experiences of middle school are behind her. Her... See full review

Studio Passione launched this hilarious and quirky comedy in 2019 just one year after Lerche set the bar pretty high with “Asobi Asobase”. If you loved one you will love the other. Madcap Japanese School-Girl-shows are a common-place sub-genre but it takes a touch of genius to make something just a little special like this. Where Lerche led Passione followed with this wonderful adaptation of the popular manga (2014 to 2023) by Bino. Review Done After Episode 7 Dropped at Episode 7 Overal Rating: 4/10 I could honestly see the appeal about this anime, but overall not that great and a let down. The one thing I just couldn't stand was Elaina. She is arrogant and cocky, acting as if she is better than most people just because she was the youngest person to have ever pass the witch exam. Violet Evergarden was the anime that really got me into anime. With its ability to make me quite emotional with its scenes of sadness and beauty, I'm really glad that it was one of my first animes, or at least, the anime that captivated me into even checking out the medium. I like that kind of stuff as it's quite an interesting storyline . I just wish the action and climax happened a bit sooner. It makes me want a season 2 . Also I would have rather this MC to not have a love interest as it kind of ties down the feeling of the character . Villainess Level 99 is yet another otome isekai that's gotten an anime adaptation. It's not as dramatic or romantic as this season's 7th Time Loop or Doctor Elise, but it does serve well in the comedic aspect. ~ Story ~
The anime doesn't have much of an overarching story unlike previous titles mentioned. It's more of a school life anime focusing on the day-to-day events of Eumiella's life. Well, that is after we're introduced to her partway through the first or second episode, as the initial set-up is a parody of reverse harem fantasy school shoujo. Right away that showcased the... Fairly cliche starting plot, made good by a) how autistic the main character is and b) how much she doesn't give a crap about the romance parts of the romance game. Some parts of the story feel like they were there because they felt they were needed to be - yumiella's girl friend, for instance, who adds very little to this season. I suspect she has more importance in the future parts of the story that aren't shown in the anime? The animation score would be better if the 3d wasn't egregiously awful. It is an anime which relies heavily on the promise that things will be explained later and will make sense eventually. But that promise is less than half heartedly met upon once the anime reaches its conclusion. For a story which put such a heavy burden into abbiding to the rules, it is almost shocking how no effort was put into stabilishing these rules and what following or breaking them entail. If you are someone who can hold out with mediocre stories in the hopes of at least a good pay off, this is not it. Urusei Yatsura (2022) Season 2

The second season of Urusei Yatsura is more of the same. In that sense, although it is not bad, it is quite repetitive. It's the problem with episodic series in general: if the plot doesn't advance, it stagnates in using its formula over and over again until it gets tired of it.

It was so bizzare. There's a whole grand narrative of competing facitons and players from all over the place, and it just doesn't come together to make something compelling. It's so caught up in its own weirdness that it fails to endear us to its characters, nor interest us in the stakes of their mission. It feels like a jumbled prolouge to an actual possible very intersting story, but with only 12 episodes and nothing to compel people to watch past episode 3, it's unlikely we'll ever see that story animated. 5.5 - It could have really been something, but is too bizzare for how uncompelling it is.

***No Spoilers*** This is the battle shounen for you if you're seeking one with heavier romance that is done in a very “battle shounen” manner, where it is tied into the combat and core story rather than just being an ordinary underlying side story romance. It's quite entertaining to watch because it accomplishes this so well in a very unique and fascinating way. It was definitely the main draw of the show for me. Apart from that, it's a fairly typical battle shounen with a wide array of interesting characters who experience some good character growth as they mature and discover who they are... Idk if it's the mood I was in but i watched every dub ep in one sitting. I just genuinely enjoyed every ep and now i'm waiting for the dub finish, i agree with others on how the female MC feels a dime a dozen but every other character's originality makes up for it. I literally never leave any reviews but i feel this anime is getting a lot of hate for little reason, the "sexual assult" Andy did to fuuko is wayyyyyy less of a problem than people make it out to be. With Fuuko's negator power it completely makes sense as to why the "sexual assult" is here. While Andy could have said/did... See full review

This one really left an impression on me, in a good way. I didn't know what to expect going into it, but what I got was well worth my time. I'll admit there were a handful of shortcomings that really held it back, but overall I think the highs far outweigh the lows. Story: Our MC is getting ready to 'end it all' because she brings bad luck to anyone she touches and hasn't felt a human connection in years, ever since her parents died - she represents the "Unluck" in the title. Her attempt is interrupted by the other titular character "Undead", a centuries-old guy who cannot be killed and... See full review

Maybe I'm just a huge fan of this style of world building maybe it's that I'm a sucker for crazy4crazy romance, but I really love this series so much.  The story of UdUl brings the best of shonen battle and shojo romance together in a way I knew I wanted but never really expected to see. Shonen usually eschew romance or relegate it to a prize the hero gets at the end. UdUl thrives on Andy and Fuuko's relationship and the how they push each other to live more fulfilling lives despite being Negators. And the Negator power system is so much fun, it's well defined enough that it's easy for viewers to... See full review

When I started this I found the premise to be really interesting. I appreciated the lighthearted humor combined with action, and saw it as just a fun casual watch.  The plot picked up a lot in seriousness and tone, while still trying to keep some of that humor, but it was not done well. The further along it got, the harder it was for the show to try to maintain that balancing act. Not to mention that the scope of the plot continued to expand rapidly in the first 12 to 15 episodes, despite a huge lack of setup, character development, and an incohesive narrative. The show throws you around from one... See full review

The anime itself is a pretty interesting story. With the aspect of rules and how each rule affects the world based on The Union completing a quest or failing to complete all their quests (some rules making it feel similar to how the real word works like the addition of other planets/stars, and some rules that aren't similar to the real world like making everyone speak and everything written in english), how each character's powers work and learning how to control them, and the how aspect of the... It was one of the wholesome animes i had watched because of the bonding of all the characters, music and storyline. I get why some people are not happy with the plot and also why a majority of people like it. As for the people who don't like the plot, it's a little all over the place but the stories are kinda meant to be this way and with little but notable details I suppose. So, you can watch it just for wasting your time or maybe to clear up your mind aafter watching something extremely dark like that chimera episode from Fullmetal Alchemist( fuck that dad, I would have fucking killed him if possible). Studio Shaft’s 2014 adaptation of one of Nisio Isin’s Monogatari-universe light novels is pretty much like all the others. Dull and pretentious. (We recall having dropped one of the other anime after about five minutes.) The adaptations are baffling and very little actually happens. They focus is on the seemingly pointless and nonsensical dialogue between a small number of eccentric supernatural characters. These are set against visually bizarre backgrounds that are unrelated to the actual story. Still, Shaft have churned out episode after episode so it must have its fans. Maybe they think this... There are no badly written characters.  When you watch the 2nd season a long time after the 1st, you're not able to connect the dotes. There are some references to the previous season and also timeline changes.  The story is very unique. The MC is super OP but still he trains and gets more OP. The demi-humans, the academy arc - everything is 😘. The timeline switches add to the beauty too.  This is a must see anime for all who like fantasy, OP MC and simple and fun world building... Some vague spoilers, but really more of a summary. To start this is a school arc, our MC is a teacher, rather than student.

What is hard, is getting past both "hero" episodes 2 & 3. Our MC main story line takes a backseat to what most of us won't give a sh!t about. But it is what it is.

Then we have our "favorite" apparently cannon mini arc throughout a few episodes of Mio trying to learn to cook human food & also almost killing everyone who taste tests it. Nailed that troop hard. Feels more like filler, but cannon filler.

Around episode 4 things seem to get... See full review

Resultantly, in a new world, he is ostracised and misunderstood by humans more than once. But, goddamn, is our MC overpowered? He sure is! The relationships between the MC and his two main "Girls" was actually soemthing that I didnt mind seeing and was way more intertaining then it typically is. Tokyo Revengers: Seiya Kessen-hen

Tokyo Revengers: Seiya Kessen-hen Despite a solid concept, the first season was already a tragedy, so I'm not surprised that the second season continues at a qualitatively mediocre level. The only exception is that I find this season more likable. It became more of a generic shounen, but at least it had some sort of goal, no matter how stupid it was. The highlight of this season was the protagonist because he really started to develop and not just talk about it all the time. That didn't make this season any better, but at least it made it a bit more bearable. The rest of the characters were still a... See full review

Tokyo Revengers I remember when the anime was released in 2021 and had gathered quite a lot of hype around it. It was compared to other similar works like "Erased" and seemed to be rather popular. Well at least for the first few months, somewhere in the middle of it, people suddenly stopped seeing any of the anime on YouTube or anywhere else, it was like it was gone and there was no trace of the fans. After I started watching this anime, I understood why that was the case. Despite all expectations, this anime/manga is blessed with a very interesting concept, especially for thriller fans. ( I'm going to talk about both seasons in this review ) Tokyo Ghoul was a great anime, however having read the manga, I can say that the animation kind of ruined everything. Ok, in itself it wasn't bad either, but especially for tokyo ghoul : re, I think the studio didn't know how to represent the gore side of the work. In termes of the story, even if it's not the most original I've read, it's still well constructed.

Not even gonna sugar coat it, this shit is pure ass. I don't care if the manga is better or whatever, this show doesn't deserve the amount of hype it got. This is just plain boring with a whiny ass naive MC who refuses to learn anything until it's encoded in him through torture. It's just bunch of gory violence without any substance. The characters be it good or bad don't have any dimension to them, the show wants us to care for those characters but we as an audience are given no reason to do so. MCs turmoil regarding his identity is forgotten by the 3rd episode, everything is so ass.

I think that this is exactly what the isekai genre should be - NOT some poor quality anti-promotion material (promotion material that makes you want to AVOID looking into the respective mangas or light-novels) - but instead, a really decent 'medium' to convey a story, and in a very digestible and easy-to-watch manner at that. But I can't see the anime matching the pace of the manga. As of chapter 68 of the manga he is cities away and fighting for his life against a dragon kin. No way they cover that distance in 3 episodes. Not to mention that the current episodes are like chapter 50 in the manga. They just did 2 epiosde of content that shouldn't come up for a long time.

I liked this anime because it was a bit different for me, so that made it more enjoyable.  This anime is a bit on the dark and gloomy side, but it works well for the story.  The two main characters are a team that are unique in their interactions with each other.  One seems to be hostile all the time while the other is polite.  The primary drive for this anime is that of witches killing and cursing those they interact with for the most part.  You follow the two MC's on their journey to find the witch that cursed Guideau while they do jobs for the organization they are... I generally like anime and fantasy stories that have some kind of reference to well-known legends, and then when the anime starts, suddenly you see that the story is completely contrary to expectations and is not at all like that old legend and story, and only has a slight reference to it. Come on... For example, in the first episode, when the intro part was played, I thought this story was similar to Sleeping Beauty. If only there was a small hint of it. For example, kissing a lover, etc. In addition, this anime may have been like filler for most of its parts, but it was enjoyable and different for me. I... See full review

The world this anime is set in is well thought out as are the characters that inhabit it. You can call this a sort of (light) detective and action story with some interesting and at times gory magic thrown in. I think this a kinda weird anime. I have many questions about our two protagonists. Why is Ashaf so vague and seems so knowledgeable about everything? Why doesn't Guideau know anything about the world, how did Guideau get cursed, why that curse, how come Guideau doesn't know/remember the witch that cursed them, if Guideau is apparently genderless why do they want to get back to their original body so badly? It's all clearly part of the plot as part of Guideaus backstory but it's frustrating as we're given very... See full review

I sat down to watch this because of the "Majiku Baggu" clip I found on the internet, and ended up loving it peacefully.

The pace is slow with bits of action and adventure attached to the side. While there is combat, do not expect anything spectacular or overly flashy. It's another reincarnation adventure, where the reincarnated half just kind of bobbles along like a fairy or a split personality of some kind, chiming in very rarely from time to time. IVY makes use of this a little bit, but most of the time she seems to ignore her past life's memories. The story is slow, but purposeful and... See full review

Story: 8/10 The anime presents a refreshing and unique storyline, focusing on a seemingly weak tamer called Ivy who embarks on a journey to find herself. Despite its seemingly mundane premise, the plot quickly becomes engaging as it unfolds, with unexpected twists and turns keeping you eagerly anticipating each new episode. The development of the main character's journey and the underlying themes add depth to the narrative (recommend reading the manga to follow the continuing plot). Animation: 8/10 The animation is of quality, maintaining consistent design throughout. Character designs are detailed... See full review

You know how people say anime isn't just for kids? That doens't mean that kids' anime aren't made for kids. This anime is just that. It isn't bad it just isn't exactly something that will prompt any deep thought or stick with you if you are over 12. The animation is clearly for kids, the cutesy characters, the cheesy villains. It's a good kids show I'd have my kids watch but it isn't Avatar the Last Airbender which breaks down the wall between appropriate for kids and genuinely brilliant for all ages. Should you watch it? If you want to practice Japanese, want something fluffy, or you are a kid then go for... See full review

Okay hear me out, the first episode almost made me drop because of how badly it was handled, but I can guarantee you, every episodes gets better and better. About a year ago, I read the manga and it was really great so that kinda helped me push through this first episode. The animation is great and unique without a shred of CGI. I will edit this review once the last episode has dropped.

There are only 7 episodes out at the time of my review. I hopped on this early because I didn't want anyone to make the same mistake I almost did. I almost dropped this show initially because I did not like how they handled the main character talking to themself and was getting really annoyed and confused by it. This will be explained later on, but I don't want to go in further depth and spoil it for anyone who has yet to watch. The main thing you need to know is that this show gets really good and it's worth powering through the beginning even if you are feeling how I did initially. The payoff is gonna be... Ok so i really like how this is a different type of weak to strong story because the MC dies and becomes an undead which is really cool and unique . I just really wanted more screen time of the MC as a skeleton or ghoul interacting with people in the labyrinth without being in a robe. I also wanted more screen time with the MC and the blonde girl he meets in the labyrinth, that kind of made me disappointed as we don't even see her with the MC after the first few episodes . Also no romance with Lorraine which is wtf . And the ending was just awful . Really need a season 2 with the lack of pace the story... See full review

The story felt generic, the only thing that made me invested was the "existential evolution" thing. The characters around the MC felt like bots, they were just there just because they had to. You can easily forget about any character when you go to the next episode. The dragon face and the "Tarasque" monster face were almost the same. So didn't like that part. Every episode was tough to watch except the last two episodes. It felt like yeah now it's a bit funny or it's trying to move forward with the story. But then, his past story for why he wants to be a Mithril adventurer. It was also... See full review

If you think the Studio Madhouse’s 2010 odd looking sci fi/fantasy romantic-comedy resembles the 2017 “Night Is Short, Walk On Girl” (Studio Science Saru) then this is for good reason. The two were written by Tomihiko Morimi (who also gave us the equally bizarre-but-beautiful “Penguin Highway”) and both shared the same senior product staff including Director Masaaki Yuasa and Producer Noriko Ozaki. “Night Is Short, Walk On Girl” is the “spiritual sequel” to “The Tatami Galaxy” which means it exists in the same universe, both feature some of... ***No Spoilers*** One big problem in this show is the battle system is barely bare bones. You know it works with mana, skills and shields, but they never really go into it to flush it out. So all the skills are left ambiguous and the fighting is repetitive as they just hack and slash or use bland generic moves at the whim of the moment. The animation doesn’t do it any justice in this regard either so it's not flashy or fun to look at. The characters are a bit better with them being alrightish, but don’t expect any deep characters or good character building. You're just going to get characters... See full review

This one has an OK story, but it's overall not really good quality and then they did that creepy thing that I wished was long wiped from anime in episode 11. Misogyny. One-sided sexualisation and objectification of female characters, non-consensual intimate touching (between women doesn't make that BS more acceptable AND no damn woman behaves like male creeps and touches boobs without consent, damn it!). That asides of body shaming over breast sizes, like what the hell is wrong with you, women aren't men who seem to compete with "cucumber length comperisons" and "fighting" all the time... I thought this was a nice anime, it was simple and straight forward.  They jump right in with the main character with some backstory of where he comes from, but they really do not elaborate on it.  The characters you meet are the characters you end up with.  The companions of the MC do gain skill from learning from him, just no character development.  The MC was the draw back for me in that I believe they put the wrong voice actor as the MC.  I found his character to be very bland.  You know how a good story teller can liven up a story by using their voice to make it more... The story has ended years ago like in 2019-2020, and now they are trying to create the manga and the anime based on the light novel. The 2nd season sucks because they don't know how to make the story in a way that it allows them to sell it to anyone, if they follow the light novels content it will be an 18+ story for sure because it involves sexual content therefore they cannot sell it any more on Crunchyroll, many people in Europe and America use it, the series would be considered a combination between gore hentai and dark fantasy. I would argue that a lot of people who give this bad ratings or even just average ratings don't like it because there girl didn't win. (and there will be A LOT of those) without spoiling I will say that most will find GREAT dissapointment in this. It is NOT the most beloved girl in the quintuplet fanspace.  I personally found it beautiful. I think that there was truly a good connection and romance between them even if it took the movie to flesh it out. I am glad that there was a girl who was chosen and they didn't just let it stay a harem forever. My only complaint is that it left us wondering and... See full review

I’ll start by asking, WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED? Season 1 was consistently good with its quality. However, I do wish that it was consistent with its dark tone. I had genuinely high hopes for this season, only to get slapped in the face with constant plot holes, horrible pacing, and a mediocre opening and closing track. The big question is, why did they skip the most crucial part of the manga? And don’t even get me started on the ending. The mangaka and director had ONE JOB to improve the manga's ending, BUT NOOOO! IT’S SOMEHOW WORSE! And the animation of the time skip is a joke. It’s a... See full review

This season was ... fine ... kind of. Sure, the pacing is horrible at times and feels really rushed, the characters seem bland compared to season 1 and the "plot twists" or ending are not really that engaging. Overall, though, as a non-manga reader I can say season 2 is watchable (If you have nothing better to do)

Before I get into why I gave this anime a 6/10, I want to say that I LOVED the first season of this anime. It was an absolute phenomenal show and incredible adaptation of the manga. It had the perfect amount of mystery, thriller, and suspense and kept you on your toes. Even when I didn't think they would go a certain length because the main group are kids, the show still went there, and never in a bad way.

Now, in my opinion, the second season is a complete disservice to the show. The manga consisted of 20 volumes, season 1 adapted roughly 5 volumes. Meaning, with math, they had enough source... See full review

To be honest, I just didn't see the appeal. This anime uses some very overused concepts and doesn't even "re-master" them properly. While I did enjoy the anime, Tengoku Daimakyou in my opinion did things much better. This anime, conceptually appears to not only be unoriginal, but also rather flawed and unrealistic. What should be happening is these kids should be getting KILLED OFF. And yet conveniently nothing happens that actually ends them all. In Tengoku Daimakyou, at the very least the main characters have POWERS or EQUIPMENT that allows them to FIGHT BACK against their enemies. Here the... See full review

This has no leading males so it's a mystery to me who will gonna end up with the MC FL but the author will give us hints around the LN because the anime was way ahead than the manga itself. This was pretty similar to other villainess stories with the main character being reincarnated as such in their favorite game/novel and would have to find a way to survive. The animation was great and loved the designs. Pride would strive to change how her character was in the game to do much better but shows that she deep down fears that she might still end up being the villainess in the end when it comes to certain events throughout the story.

Finally gave it a go and all I can say is that this is garbage harem crap in the guise of a sci-fi and so-called thought provoking show. I hate when I'm lied to and manipulated like this. The show kept up the facade for a rather long time before exposing its true nature and it was interesting for a bit, but they did nothing with those promising aspects, instead falling into what are now lame, boring and overdone cliches. This anime is a bit of a letdown.  Frankly it had one of THE WORST and most dissatisfying endings I've EVER seen in an anime.  The last 2 or 3 episodes felt really rushed as if the direct the plot or half the script from them.  Visually, it looks pretty good and more or less decent characters but there are moments where the characters feel a bit carbon copied or lacking depth.  Sadly, the strongest, deepest, and most well developed characters are mostly the minor or support characters.  Such as the Biggs and Wedge clones that follow Lavi like diehard near stalker fanboys.  The... The character development is incredible, some of the best I've seen and with the music added, you can almost feel and experience the natural beauty of their world. The animation and sound is amazing as well, it's very clear and vibrant. Honestly, you can fall in love with a movie like this one. I watched the english dubbed version, which alined perfectly with the original voice acting, on Tubi (a free streaming site).

I had no problem with the sounds whatsoever; they were good and very fitting. If I'm honest, I loved the characters, mostly the destroyers. Huge props to everyone involved. Ignore the haters and keep up the good work. 💪 I'm hoping to see episode 13 or season 2 in the future. Very excited for it! I'll give it a solid 8/10.

It had potential then it went downhill. This was a fruit salad of shock and awe. Was it an adaptation issue or the story is just plain bad? The characters are just existing for the sake of creating drama. The guy who wanted revenge. The girl who is a hopeless damsel on distress type who ends up falling in love with his kidnapper. The other side characters that you don't care about.  And there are a lot of side characters that are bland. Let me begin by stating this; I don't write reviews, because i don't usually feel the urge to.  However I don't think this anime deserves the amount of hate that it's recieving in the reviews. Yes it is extremely violent, graphic, bloody and abusive and if you check the warnings on here it tells you that. Heck, the first half of the first episode tells you that with its content. They also don't hold back on randomly killing off characters, but this is what happens in a story with wide scale revenge as the main motive.
