Magic Kaito 1412

ffbfran's avatar By on May 28, 2016

love love love. this is the flip side of detective conan. its mystery and humor. watch it, you must watch it. the characters are great. the detectives that go after kaito include conan. the daughter of the police chief annoys me a bit but overall the characters are interesting. the sound fits the anime. half mystery half mocking. the story, well sometimes it seems there and sometimes not, but overall its good.

Skip Beat!

this is a story not of love but of getting over a broken heart. picking yourself up from a lifetime of a crappy male using you and tossing you out like trash. the main character Kyoko has such a thing happen to her. instead of being like most girls her age and crying and acting as if its the end of the world she decides to pick herself up, make something of herself and rub it in his face. Sho, the douche, makes me want to punch him in the face, then i think he needs therapy. ren makes me want to shake him, then date him lol. its comedy with personal growth.

Parasyte -the maxim-

ffbfran's avatar By on May 28, 2016

I don't usually like horror based things but this was great. I liked the premise, especially when i read that theres an actual parasite that infects the body and takes over the brain for real. ewwe. anyway there was enough violence to love the action, there was a compelling storyline for those more intrested in that. the ending was not what i expected but it wasnt terrible. ive never read the manga so i cannnot compare it to that.

Akagami no Shirayukihime

ffbfran's avatar By on May 28, 2016

Romantic and chivalirous. This romance is not based on the sexual chemistry. It is completely about how they feel about each other and how hard they work to master their chosen careers/lives and work their relationship into it. The supporting characters are diverse and interesting. There isnt anyone that I wish wasnt in the series. I couldn't wait for season 2.

School-Live!

WolfAngelus's avatar By on May 28, 2016

Very enjoyable anime that combines a school club's daily living activities, with comedy, some feelings, a fair amount of personality, and a touch of horror that seems have too low of a viewer base. It is quite literal on its English name - School Living Club, where the characters "live" due to circumstances as you will quickly find out. The tags listed are very much correct, don't be fooled by the start and watch the first episode fully to understand. The horror tag could be switched for comedy in my opinion. Only in Ep 11 did it have that proper horror feel for a while. Other than... See full review

....Why? Why would you name the second part OF THE SAME ARC a different name as the rest of the series? As you may have guessed this series is the second part of the arc from the first series. Why they called it 'Perfect Order' is beyond me. Nothing new is started and only the main arc from the previous series is wrapped up. Everyhting I wanted to say about this series I said in my review on the first season.

Right, it's confession time for me. If you have been reading my reviews than you may have noticed that I tend to rip the anime a new one. There is a reason for this though and it has to do with the fact that I can't turn my brain off when watching anime. I can't ignore the stupid shown in the anime and this is a problem as most anime are very stupid indeed. In this case I'm not talking about a 90 pound girl catching a multi-ton cruise missile and throwing it back. Yes, it is stupid but it is a stupid that I'll allow. It's anime. Things like this are normal here and I'm pretty much fine with it. It annoys... See full review

Well in all fairness, I can't give this show a fair rating since it is just soft core porn. The story is basically nonexistent(lessbe honest your not watching this for the story anyway). The animation was goodish, nothing particularly wrong with it. the voice acting was good for a hentai, and the music was generic anime f•cking music. The characters were just horney teenagers, i didn't like any of them, but didn't hate them either, they were just bland. overall, for hentai, this wasn't to bad. a lot of people got all hot and bothered over the incest, but it's just anime and overall harmless.

There is no story. That's why this show was so great to me. I wasn't constrained by any sort of requirement to care. The humor made me laugh damn near every time, and I often laughed hard. THIS WAS MEANT TO BE A GAG ANIME, SO RATE IT LIKE ONE. You can't use the same rating process for a drama as you would a comedy. Quit it. In my opinion, this anime is just as funny as Gintama, possibly more. That's it and that's all.

The Pet Girl of Sakurasou

joudherb's avatar By on May 27, 2016

I can only say how disappointed I was with this anime. So much potential squandered in the pursuit of fanservice. The highlight of the anime for me are the two episodes towards the fag end where the Main Character Sorata & his romantic interest Nanami deal with the harsh realities of failure. They are the only normal and relatable characters in the show for me. It is so unfortunate that I had to put up with a pointlessly meandering story abound with annoying characters in order to reach those 2 good episodes.  Later it fell flat again with a "school speech" by Misaki, an... I'm starting to feel like Sideshow Bob constantly walking into rakes with these Shinkai films. Lured in by the beauty and let down by the cliche and weak storytelling. Story - 3/10 Despite the term "original" often thrown around for this movie, it really was anything but. It's a very common boy meets girl story, boy finds out a secret about girl, boy professes love and is rejected. There was nothing ground breaking, nothing unexpected and nothing that would put this above any generic love story.  They also did a major disservice to the viewer by pulling the "and then I went... Story:           I thought the story was very unique. Come on, you rarely see creatures from another planet/dimension, looking for something magical, such as Dance stones, in this anime. I have to admit that there are some part of the story that I'm not fond of, but most of the other episodes are... I guess you can call it adventurous. Also, the main characters' dance moves aren't terrible... I enjoyed them dance. Usually, in card games like Yu-Gi-Oh!, I would just skip over them, since they are SOOOOO boring [no offense Yu-Gi-Oh! fans]. However, in this anime, the dances are... See full review

And I find it a good anime to just kill time. But I for sure agree why this anime is not more popular and I can understand why some people dont like it. It just felt like somthing was missing in it. I cant figure out what. On the other hand I think it was very creative and random. One of the reasons why I liked this anime cause of just HOW pointless and stupid it was. Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the duck Sky is definitly an average even going somewhat below average. Like usual the anime started of pretty good, the first few episodes were the best and well then it fell apart! The story was pretty difficult to follow but it still followed one aspect we were given at the start (the girl wanted to visit the ruins). But there was just too much missing! With the intoduction of new characters while not even knowing much about the main characters or "starter" characters, it just added to the confusion. It wasn't a bad anime, but there really isn't much payoff here. I'll start by saying that I didn't hate or dislike this anime, but it doesn't really stand out. Its a slice of life with little to no story. Characters, well, there is one I like and 1 that is OK I guess. But that's 2/5 characters (I rarely remember names so I'll say I liked the older sister, and the ADHD one was OK). The other 3 kinda come across as 2 dimensional. The music isnt very memorable. The voices are OK(dub), dont really have any complaints there.  Strawberry marshmallow make frequent use of prolonged silence, which when used... See full review

No-Rin is a decent comedy, with it's own rare flavour of comedy. I didn't think it would be anything different to any other ecchi/comedy shows, but it proved me wrong. Episode 8 was hilarious, probably one of the funniest anime episodes ever. I enjoyed the characters and find it impressive that the lead character can actually be interesting, even the classmates all had different personalities and quirks.  If you're ever in the mood for something easy to watch, try this, or just skip to episode 8 and try to enjoy the craziness.

SPOLIER ALERT: I YOU READ ON PREPARE TO BE SPOILED Plot and Story: 5/10 I'm not sure what to think. You would think this story would be awfully simple; kid gets a magic book that kills anybody whose name is written in it. But all those death god rules prove to be much more complicated than it seems. The plot twists aren't bad, but the way some of the characters that died were just in my opinion unnessesary. theonus's avatar By on May 25, 2016

I know I'm being extremely harsh, but you don't make such drastic u-turns on a show. You don't change a characters mannerisms to fit the story, and you certainly **spoiler** don't end the show where NO ONE is happy. This show should have ended with one couple actually being happy about it. Quite the dramatic and unfavorable end. I am powerfully grateful that season 1 and season 2 are separated. Stick to only watching season 1, because season 2 holds nothing good. The animation was still good though. so cheers to that.

What I Liked: The soundtrack, for the most part, portrayed a great sense of adventure and wonderment. The character designs. The designs for the inventions and mechs were creative. Set designs were perfect for the genre. Action scenes were well done, with great integration of 3D elements. Cinciho, despite his wobbly characterisation. The first episode was intriguing enough. What I Didn't: Heavy use of convenient plot points. While things seem to just happen, it never feels cohesive. Constant Mood Whiplash and pacing issues. The grating and unremarkable Opening Theme. Plastic Nee-San is not an anime to be taken seriously. That doesn't mean it's not enjoyable, but you shouldn't walk into this anime thinking that. +tic is a comedy anime consisting of a series of shorts. The plot..well there really isn't one. It's just few high school girls in different situations. Although plot isn't really something you should look for in an anime like this, it's the comedy. And to me, it works. Sure, the comedy was crude at times but I think overall the jokes were pretty funny. If you're bored and looking for a short, funny anime to pass the time, watch Plastic Nee-San.

I just finished my rewatch of Toradora. My tastes have changed a lot since my first viewing, and I have a far more critical eye. Sometimes I wish it weren't so critical. I first watched Toradora very early on in my anime watching career. At that time, I thought it was amazing. I thought very highly of it as a romance, and at that time the only other romance show I had watched was Spice and Wolf. Still, even with my unrefined taste I could recognize that there were problems with the show, and that it wasn't the greatest thing ever, even if I couldn't pinpoint what the problems were. Though it is not in slighest her fault, she could've done much more to assert her partial saftey. The show came up with lame exuses for said scenes.  Animation: I don't really have much to say about the art, but to be fair, I enjoyed the art style quite a bit I liked how the fades in the hair showed up with the different shades. Someone insisted that White Album is a masterpiece, a deconstruction of the harem genre, and a mature look on the pop idol industry of the 80s. All I saw is yet another generic adaptation of a porn game. Just look at its freaking cover. Is this telling you it’s going to be deep and mature?

The bullshit are obvious from the first episode, where the bland self insert can’t hear what his girlfriend is saying, when she is sitting right next to him. So deep and mature, totally not what sitcoms are doing to stretch a simple issue with lazily... See full review

The formula is kept in tact. The major change to the formula is to the last 20 eps. These episodes are actually a really long story split between 2 arcs. There is no humor here, instead things get serious and dive into the actual main story behind Gintama. Expect a lot of action, more than all the previous episodes had, combined. This anime did a really good job at stirring up my love for dynasty warriors. I have few complaints as I really enjoyed it. However, the beginning was a little to abrupt for me. They offer no explanation or prologue to the events leading up to the main character just spawning, 450 years in the past, and he shows no interest in finding out. Lovers of romance, warring states, and even lolis (lots of lolis. My god the number of lolis. More lolis than your body has room for! Loli-pocalyse, loli-gheddon, loli-surplus...OK, enough loli talk) won't be dissapointed in this anime.  ... See full review

For a video review, check out my Youtube channel. Link on my profile page. After the gore infested anime called Berserk I needed a break meaning that I needed an anime that I suspected to be completely in my comfort zone. So I decided to watch an anime that had been sitting on my To Watch list for quite a while. And that anime was Isshuukan Friends or One Week Friends. Only after reading the synopsis I knew that this was an anime that I just had to watch. And after the nightmare that was the ending of Berserk I figured that it was time. Positive *So I can actually comprise this anime in one word... See full review

One-Punch Man

When I heard about one punch man and the hype around it i thought I would see for myself. My verdict...... bad. This anime is about a super hero called Saitama who is so powerful that he can kill anything with one punch. However because. he. is so strong he. gets bored and dreams of finding an enemy as powerful if not stronger than he is. The general idea of the anime is good. However the story is extreamly repetetive and although the action scenes are pretty good it is boring a lot of the time. The story is gennerally saitama kills this, saitama kills this and so on. The characters of this anime are not... See full review

Introduction Welcome to my review of Bakuman (2012)! Bakuman is currently my personal favourite anime and this here is my first review. I hope you'll enjoy it and find it useful! Note that this review covers the full series, but with a certain focus on this last season. I'll use a special rating system which divides the "groups" (Story/Anim./Sound/Chars) into smaller groups. If you're interested in those group-thingies just check out my home page for an explanation. You can skip to the summary if you're too lazy to read everything else. STORY (6.5/10) The concept of a story about creating... See full review
