Chuunibyou Demo Koi ga Shitai!

SOLSupporter's avatar By on Jul 24, 2016

Chuunibyou Demo Koi ga Shitai!, also known as Love, Life, and Chuunibyou, is the type of moe anime everybody likes. I liked it enough, but with a caveat; I hated some parts of it as I watched it. Having watched all its episodes, I feel comfortable giving a full review. There are major spoilers ahead, so wait to read this until you have seen the entirety of the story. Don't spoil your fun with my opinion just yet!

Let me start with what I did not like. First of all, the characters. Don't get me wrong; Rikka can be a fun character who lets her diseased... See full review

ReLIFE

roriconfan's avatar By on Jul 24, 2016

ReLife is yet another show that is more about themes that execution. As long as you like its premise and find the characters likable, it doesn’t matter how it plays out. For example, many people found it very relatable because they could really understand the problems the characters are facing. I found nothing relatable in it; I hated high school and the idea of having to relive it is horrifying.

But first things first. The premise is about a NEET who is given the chance to become younger with super technology and go back to high school. Supposed, the only way he can find meaning in adult life... See full review

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

jypsyjulia's avatar By on Jul 24, 2016

This was a bit of a whirlwind for me.  Also, this review contains spoilers, so read at your own risk. The story of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann can be split into three parts: the first eight episodes are the prologue, the next seven or so is season one, and the last part is season two.  I liked the first eight enough, but it wasn't anything wonderful.  I couldn't stand the next part and almost gave up, and then I fell in absolute love with the last part of it.  I'm really glad I didn't drop it because the last "season" makes it all worth it. It's about a young boy named Simon... See full review

It reminded me of the movie "upside down". It is worth of your time, give it a try! ;) The reason I give a 9 for story and characters is because I think there's something more missing, I can't put my finger on it yet but it's like is somewhat incomplete (or maybe I just wishes more of it XD)

all i have seen is a helpless main girl and 5 other guys who love to suck her blood, the plot and animation is quite good, but the characters are so weak that after the first two episodes, it gets extremely boring and repetitive. I usually love reverse harem but this was a major disappointment.

There's a lot of ditto from what others have said. I can't say a whole lot of new stuff that's already out there.

I wouldn't rate this anime a 10/10 for a variety of reasons. In the most recent episode they threw a bombshell (episode 3) about random drama that you might expect out of a soap opera. But it's easy to ignore. But I hope they don't take too much more liberties because it really can sink the ship. Otherwise most of the content up until this episode was ok. I mean there was a lot of good pacing, nice story, unique characters (a few brand new ones.) and a decent story to... See full review

Food Wars! The Second Plate

Stormbrook's avatar By on Jul 23, 2016

I like cooking shows period. Shoukugeki no souma really started that for me. What's interesting is I believe you learn a lot about rare foods and recipies. What's interestig to me is how they've changed the dymnamic from being about a single character this season to a group of characters. This season really doesn't have a "Lead" Per say. Which is in my opinion a stroke of genius as it gives them the artistic freedom to jump aroud about the entire group without the audience wondering "What about the other guy." The whole season is about the presidential tournament. There definitely are... See full review

I was pleasantly surprised by Working!! . As a Slice of Life anime, you don't expect it to suck you into its antics as much as it does. But, if you stick with it, you will find a anime that is calming particularly because of the instances of what occurs.

First of all, Working!! has a good story for a SOL anime. There are character arcs for most of the main characters from the beginning to the end, and this production does a good job at... See full review

So I noticed previous reviews are saying basically the same thing but while this show might not seem like much, give it a chance. It being a Trigger title I started it thinking itd just be a way to waste some time, and besides the interesting plot device of sharing pain, it all seemed to meet expectations for the first few episodes. But I stuck with it and I was really glad I did. I understand many will be turned off by the stereotypical characters, but they're done purposefully t create bigger differences between the seven people that share this bond, and later down the road things only get more...

Fairy Tail 2

mdchan's avatar By on Jul 23, 2016

Fairy Tail is so large they had to divide it into two "series" and then list the episode numbers as if they never did so. But I digress. I loved Fairy Tail when it first came out.  I felt that it wasn't a one-man show for a shounen manga/anime (though, Natsu does often fight the "bosses", there were exceptions such as the Deliora Arc), and that everyone was just as strong as the protagonist...and some members of the guild were even stronger. Yea, there were still some fanservice moments, but it really wasn't that bad. Then, Series Two (2014) comes out, and the entire thing... See full review

This piece was another of the great F U from Anno(well anno’s studio khara). But remember he likes to troll. Take acid, not joking. Myself and a friend from Detroit are convinced this piece was created with this in mind and the creators clearly did too.  I would give this a better or review. But for this animation you would have understand anime sub culture(waifu, hikikomori), know what studio khara is, and trip acid. Enjoy it for that it is, but it is very multi layered.

AJIN follows the story of Kei, a young boy who gets hit by a car and realizes that he is a one of the feared Ajin: creatures that look like humans but hold supernatural powers and can't die.  Once he's discovered, the government comes after him and he has to go on the run, only to find himself in the middle of a war between Ajin and humans...a war he wants nothing to do with.  It's not the most creative story, but it was executed well.  My only issue is that the end of the first season feels a little rushed.  I think this could have been stretched to be 16 or so episodes so that it... MayomiCCz's avatar By on Jul 22, 2016

Interesting start to say the least. I was caught by the title and promotional poster for this series. With a strange title using numeric values and from watching the first two episodes, one can only assume it's following a format? Will this actually have 91 ep? That I'd be interested in seeing. Especially how they'd separate them via season if considered. Lovely art style (very Baccuno), love the setting and am interested in seeing the plot progress. If you're interested in prohibition era, mobsters, guns, smoke, and revenge (with a twist) I'd say give this a watch.

ReLIFE: A Generic Mix of Popular Anime Trends Lacking in Depth and Entertainment Value The prospect of being able to live part of your life over again and do things differently isn’t a new setup in any media, let alone anime. One of the more memorable attempts at tackling this premise was a 1986 novel called “Replay”, but it was hardly the first. ReLIFE is late to the party, and it makes very little attempt at subverting this familiar premise. But that’s okay; originality isn’t everything. Plopped awkwardly is the middle of season three, this movie should serve to fill in some holes before a spectacular ending, but from the looks of it, I'd say it was a way for Studio Gallop to unload episodes they were working on before the show was moved to studio Deen. Story - 4/10 As with most of the stories in Kenshin this one deals with, oh shocker, people wanting to take revenge against the government who betrayed them. Likewise, yet again, these people are lead by a charismatic leader (Takimi) who's number two () is really out to betray him and take the glory for himself. The spin is that... See full review

Seraph of the End is actually better than I thought it would be. Same old kind of vampires that you usually find in anime. In fact the vampires from Vampire Knight are an excellent comparsion to how the vampires on this show act. Aloft, eccentric and cocky are just a few terms I would use to describe them. Overall story line was actually rather good in my opinion. Two childhood friends on opposite sides of a war that is bigger than the two of them. Each trying to save the other while dealing with their own issues.  Questions on who can actually be trusted and who is actually a good person.

I watched cuz I was bored and in search for something to kill some time. The story is kind of interesting, the plot has a good pacing and the timeline isn't rushed. What I like most is their strategies on winning each game, that's the reason I rated it so high.  There are rumors about a season 2, I hope they're are true because I would pretty much like to see how they conquer the game world.

I was misleaded by all the hype and the reviews and all, into thinking that this is some short of masterpiece.A japanese Picasso painting or something. What it is,is a good idea badly executed. When i say bad what i really mean is losing your arm and your head after fighting a bear bad.The beginning of the series was so slow and seemingly pointless that I ended up dropping it after a few episodes I came here after i watched that horrid piece of crap called Blue Gender.I was told that this anime is better in a lot and interesting ways. But is so isn't based on the fact that it uses the exactly same... Mirai Nikki TV

I've never been so disinterested watching an anime in my whole life. Afar from the bad character development and overall interactions between them, the whole show just felt unrealistic and unauthentic to me. One of those examples Is the death occurance of Yuki's loved ones and major characters around him following the raction to their deaths. The whole execution of scenes was just awful. I'm not even gonna get into personality of the characters which left me with a massive headache.  For me,the only highlight of the show was when Akise kissed Yuki tbh. There are a few characters which had interesting... Diabolik Lovers

After seeing the reviews for this anime, part of me was walking into it expecting to hate it. However, I also wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt and see what the show was like for myself. So I'm going to do my best to give my thoughts on the infamous anime known as Diabolik Lovers (all while attempting to keep spoilers to a minimum). Story:  I'm going to be totally honest here. There's hardly anything that could be considered a "plot" here. Most of the time it's just the main character Yui getting her blood sucked (btw how she hasn't died or turned from the amount of sucking is... See full review

Genres: Drama, Magic, Pyschological, Thriller

Additional Info: Get your fragile ready and a brain surgery later on!

Ending Rating: 95% (3rd Movie (Sequel of the TV Series))

Short Review: Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica is a spectucular masterpiece of anime. The godlike mixture of pyschological, drama and thriller are on a whole new a level. This anime will show you the hardships these magical girls has to face. The other magical girl animes that you've watched are nothing compared to Madoka... See full review

Scared Rider Xechs

I have to admit, it took me a while to solidify my feelings on this anime.  I wasn't expecting much, but after 3 episodes I couldn't get rid of the feeling of how generic this show is.  By episode 3 I "should" be caring about at least 1 character.  Not in this case.  And the plotline is just as bad. WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD.  Episode 1 - A male protaganist has trouble transforming into his battle form.  Solves that problem just in time to save himself and the female protagonist.  Episode 2 - Female protagonist put in charge of team.  Team not happy about it...
