^_^ Hi hi! No need to apologize. It's all good. ^_^
I am rooting for you and your exams. ^_^ I hope you do well.
At least after the exams you can reward yourself with anime. Watching the little bit of Naruto didn't get you pumped to go through till the end and get excited? x.x I made that sound like an anime. I must be weird. Because that happens to me. When I get busy I try to watch at least a little of something and then I become pumped where it feels like I have a fire burning backround/eyes. And then I go "Yosh!" x.x I must be weird.
Were you able to hang out with your friends?
Ah, those are some interesting prizes. ^_^
She watches every now and then. When I was younger she would watch Zoids (the one with Van and Fiona) with me. She loves that one. I told her I have it and she was like OoOoOo. And she also likes Cowboy Bebop and Case Closed and thought Ghost in the Shell was pretty neat.
It's because when I was younger I had restrictions on what I could and couldn't watch, so she would sit for an episode and watch it and say whether or not I could watch it. So certain shows she found to be interesting (Zoids.) Cowboy Bebop she happened across because when I got older I was watching it and she said there was nothing on tv so she was watching it with me and she liked it (same with GITS.) Then I used to record shows on VHS (makes me feel old) so when I was watching one I was watching Case Closed and Mama sat down and started watching it and liked it.
So now that I told her about a couple episodes of Jigoku she is interested. But we have been pretty busy so we haven't been able to watch it. Hopefully soon though. In the meantime I am trying to catch up with last season and start this season of Anime. Even though I have had some distractions and have watched random shows.
Jigoku is pretty interesting. ^_^
Wow, england. That is so cool. Do they have a second place and third place prize?
Things have been okay with me. Same old same old really. I did get a harassment prank call this morning at 3 in the morning.. They said something rude and nasty then hung up. I was pretty pissed, but not because of what they said. I was pissed because they woke me up. I like my sleep. ^_^
And my school is being jerkish as usual. But other than that everything else is awesome. ^_^
I did watch quite a few shows. I have been watching One Piece. I am finally up to 300. So I have about 190 to go to catch up. I watched a couple kid shows: You are Delicious and Ukkari Penelope. Ukkari Penelope is adorable. Hmmm what else... I started Jigoku Shoujo but haven't finished it because mama decided she wanted to watch it with me. So we haven't gotten around to it.I watched Cromartie High School. I really liked that. It was hilarious. I wish there were more. I finished Pani Poni Dash. And that's all I can think of.
It is depressing. I wish I had the money to donate.. I wish I could also go there and help as well.
The weather has been weird.. one moment it's hot, the next it's cold, then the next it's sunny then the next it's raining. @_@
When is the essay due? A competition? What do you win?
I am glad I was able to help. ^_^
How are you doing?
Sorry for replying late, I am being computer jacked by my brother.
Hi hi. ^_^
It's okay that you were busy, no worries. ^_^
Aw, I am sorry to hear about your bad mark. Maybe next time. ^_^
Hmm.. volunteer work... the definition of Volunteer Work is: is donating your time, knowledge and skills to charity, without receiving any salary. Volunteer work can be done in hospitals, public organisations, environment collective work and other socially important fields.
So I work at these two places,
A Chamber of Commerce (An organization of business people designed to advance the interests of its members.) I work the front desk answering the phone, filing, and whatever other office work needs to be done. I also help with the events doing whatever needs to be done like event registration or manning a booth or selling fireworks or whatnot.
The Catalyst Foundation (We provide medical care and supportive services to those living with HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C as well as the impoverished, homeless, and the formerly incarcerated with an array of transformative programming including art, meditation and yoga. We conduct outreach and prevention services for incarcerated and at-risk youth, and incarcerated adults. We provide mental health services through our newly opened Healing Center.) At the moment I work mostly in the Healing Center. I used to do both buildings but they have some people taking care of if it and it's easier without me going from building to building (They are blocks apart). I take care of whatever office work needs to be done. Not as much as the Chamber. But I do some, also data entry and filing, and helping with the Healing Workshop on Saturdays preparing the food, setting the food out and making sure everyone is comfortable and is being taken care of.
All this without being paid.
So In short volunteer work is volunteering with an organization without payment for services. Though here in the States, when you are younger and still in high school, Volunteer Work looks very good on College Applications.
There is also another form of Volunteer Work called Community Service. It can mean the same as Volunteer work but it can also be:
When court ordered, is the performance of unpaid work to repay the community for an offense committed.
So I was doing Community Service for a while to pay off a speeding ticket by working at the Red Cross Building.
So before I was doing two Volunteer Jobs and one Community Service.
I highly recommend people to Volunteer. At least once a week. Depending on the place it can be a lot of fun and very rewarding. I have met soooo many people through working at these places and sometimes I get rewarded. Not in money but in little things. For example, when I worked the Fireworks Booth Last Fourth of July my parents got a discount on the firworks because I was working the booth for 7 days and 12 hours a day. I can sometimes also get into events for free because I am working them, or because I have worked on a lot of things.
It's very fun most of the time and I love volunteering. Everyone loves me and cares for me even the Clients at the Catalyst Foundation (I am pretty popular.) I think I could do this forever. ^_^
Oh yeah, advantages and disadvantages..
Advantages: Makes you happy, Makes you feel good to help people, meet new people, feel like you are apart of something, experience, and other things.
Disadbantages: Time and Money. Money for gas. And depending how involved someone becomes with the organization the more time you are giving to them and less to everything else.. After a big event I tend to take the next week off of volunteering.
I hope that helps, even though I just rambled on and on and on. If I said anything that you don't understand let me know and I will try to help.
