In a previous list blog, I wrote:
"If this list dealt with terrible anime with terrible endings, Spiral would win like a boss."
Well, this list does deal with terrible - as in terribly bad - anime, so here's some more copy and paste (no point in wasting even more energy on it):
A very confused boss. No focus at all. A boss who doesn't know what he's trying to say, so he keeps mumbling "blade children" for the entire time, only to leave the "mystery" unresolved. Yes. That's right. This series is like half an season. Actually, it's worse than that. The manga is rather long. The events portrayed here are nowhere near half of that occurs. Whoever the hell adapted this must be an idiot. What's worse, after I bothered to inform myself in detail about the happenings in the manga, I was rather glad I didn't bother to read it before informing myself - the grand resolution is so banal I still can't believe that was what they came up with. No focus, nothing to say, meander, meander, end vaguely. Horrible.
I'll just add it takes first place because it's the longest of the bunch. And it has the worst opening theme. Ever. Anywhere. That should have been the music to torture Iraqi prisoners. Take note, torturers.
2. Melancholy of Annoying Little Bitch
Speaking of torture, it would still be too good a fate for Haruhi-chan. The first season has its moments, but the second one has one episode eight times. In addition to essentially including the first season. I dropped it right after seeing the last of the iterations. In disgust. And now I cannot even think of it without feeling disgust for the entire franchise. No loss there. But imagine, I could have been watching...well, anything. I'm certain there's hentai that's higher quality than this piece of worthless shit.
3. Gunbuster 2 [Diebuster]
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh. The idea for a list like this was conceived while thinking about how bad Diebuster is - and it's very, very bad. It also really has no reason to be dubbed Gunbuster 2, but I find myself repeating a previous blog. Sometimes one might wish to give a series a chance to gear up, put things into motion, start being compelling after a trudging, loathsome, annoying, boring introduction. This is usually a mistake. Diebuster is just that - a mistake. Basically, they could have made Tengen Toppa a bit earlier had they not wasted time on this. Bad Gainax, bad! The point is, of course, that Diebuster never picks up, never becomes amazing (or just good), never gratifies the viewer with anything except animation. If that's your kink, go ahead, drown in feces all you like.
4. Dai Mahou Touge
The Objects of Hate. I should perhaps meditate on that a bit. For DMT is something I've also previously written about. Here's the blurb: http://www.anime-planet.com/users/phnsr/blog/posts/7203. It's even titled appropriately. How nice of me to save my future self some time.
The predecessor to Diebuster, it's basically the same thing. I can't decide which one is more annoying or stupider. Well, obviously FLCL is a bit better, but being the least shitty shit in a pile of shit is still a shitty position.
