I fail at profiles.

No, I really do. I never know what to write! I mean, this is it, my one chance to intrigue or captivate or amuse, or whatever compels us to leave a comment and (hopefully) make a new friend.

Well, I guess I should start by saying that I am a fangirl. There is nothing I love more than gushing about an anime series. Particularily shoujo. Oh, shoujo...how I love you, with all your rainbows and sparkles and pretty boys.

My Rating Scale (just so you know...)

5 - Sheer brillance, absolutely perfect and amazing and fantastic.

4.5 - Adore it with my whole heart, and I still think it's brilliant and all, just not at the level of a five.

4 - Still amazing, but not obsession worthy.

3.5 - Great, just not... fabulous. I'll probably never rewatch it, but it was worth at least one viewing.

3 - Eh... kind of average. Potential for something greater, but...

2.5 - Meh. Take it or leave it, I guess.

2 - Not my cup of tea.

1.5 - Really, really bad. Like, seriously bad.

1 - Even worse.

.5 - Pure garbage. 'Nuff said.

Awesome!  Yeah, Beyond the Clouds drags a little bit during its middle sections, but the vast majority of it is enjoyable.  Expect very similar pacing with 5 Centimeters per Second, though it's a bit less focused and spreads across two main stories (the third just kinda...ends) instead of a single one.  Still a very beautiful movie overall, though.

And hooray at me being persuasive!  FMwS, go! =P

You have a lot of catching up to do!  Going on ~8 years now myself lol (of serious watching.)  I tend to go on "watching binges" like I did over Christmas break...I think I watched some 15ish series in 5 weeks.  ><

If you like really involved/detailed storylines (or more importantly for me, the fact that they are told immensely well) be sure to check out my top five.  Before digging into them, though, you should take FMwS off the backburner - it's really worth finishing.  If you've actually enjoyed the first few episodes (I hated them personally) you'll love the latter 80% of the series guaranteed.  There's a hell of a lot more to it than what's presented in the first few filler episodes.  Anyway,  I'll shut up now since I'm starting to rant like an idiot. *retreats back into physics lab report*

Hm...I'm not much of a shoujo guy, but I do take a liking to a good romance and have a few you might want to check out.  I recently recommended this one to littlekitty, but REC is an amazingly well-done and realistic romance that is one of my favorites in the genre (if my not my favorite.)  What else...what else...ah yes, Shinkai!  His movies are fantastic for their refined exploration of unrequited love, not to mention their absolutely gorgeous visuals and great sound tracks.  Here are his two best thus far (Beyond the Clouds being #1):

5 Centimeters per Second: http://www.anime-planet.com/anirec/1315.html

Beyond the Clouds: http://www.anime-planet.com/anirec/890.html

When I can think of some others I'll let you know.  Tough reccing for someone with so few series seen! =)

Feel free to borrow the idea- I don't mind at all.  Actually, having a rating system on my profile has helped me a lot.  I always forget why I rated an anime the way I did, and the rating scale helps me remember :-)

I can totally understand why you lost interest in Peach Girl after being spoiled.  The story is definitely better when you don't know what's going to happen- that's what makes it so fun!

Are you watching any anime that is currently airing?

Random hello!

Noticed you have Full Moon wo Sagashite stalled after 6 eps, and wanted to tell you to keep going!  Back when I first picked it up, I watched 4 episodes and then dropped it for about 6 months since it didn't really catch my interest.  It's a bit slow to start, but once you hit episode 11 (I think it's around there...it's been a few years) it starts picking up very quickly.  It's not as run-of-the-mill as it first appears, and I ended up really liking it overall come the end.  Try to get through a few more eps; I guarantee it's worth the wait! =)

Also, what're your general tastes in anime?  I see you have quite a wide range of things you're watching (from shoujo to horror) and, if you'd like, I can recommend more series to you based on your interests.

See you around!
