Lately I've been catching up on Steins Gate and C^3 in my spair time. I noticed that C isn't even listed as airing on here, which is sort of strange. Steins Gate is extremely interesting, especially if you know your science. There are parodies of real research companies in the show and it uses actual conspiracy theories that have been made in real life, in the anime. I find it to be extremely interesting and amusing. It is based off of the Visual Novel of the same name which an english translation has only just started to be made for. If you have watched Noein and you understood the science in it and liked it, you will definitely like Steins Gate as it has much more visual appeal then Noein. You might also like this if you've seen Evangelion, if you liked the Ghost in the Shell manga, etc. It's a very interesting Sci-Fi anime thusfar. Admittedly I have only watched up to/including episode 7.
I've also started watching C^3 and I have seen up to and including episode 10 of this anime. So far I love it. The 4chan summation of this show is accurate "It's fuckin' ECONOMICS!". It's also epic and amazing. This show uses a virtual world called the 'Financial District' which influences the real world, turning corporate takeovers into physical battles where a person can become rich and wind up bankrupt. Yet, this is more like Madoka Magica then Yu-Gi-Oh, with a sophisticated plot and background which seems to indicate a darker side to the Financial District. If you enter the district then you must battle with another person at least once a week, and in each battle you can win or lose any amount of money depending on how the battle ends. If you go bankrupt you are bankrupt in real life, and are banished from the financial district. It should also be mentioned that the money in the Financial District, called Midas Money, can be used in the real world and appears black only to those who have been in the Financial District. The character who invites the protagonist into the Financial District, Masakaki, reminds me of Kyubeh from Madoka. If you like Madoka Magica then you should probably take a look at C and see if you're into it. It's very fresh and original, and the art is beautiful and the music complements the show nicely so it's worth taking a look at. I have to say this is the most exciting economics has ever been. :)
