Steins;Gate

Jul 26, 2014

Let me start with the obivious: this wont be a popular review.

In my opinion anime series should be appealing from the start. Its a huge mistake to expect someone to watch 3 hours of something really weak just because its gets better. And this is my problem with Steins Gate. The first few episodes are( in my opinion, and believe me, Im not alone with this) between the worst episodes I have ever seen in any anime. Chaotic is one thing, but I didnt find the characters interesting at all and I didnt want to continue out of curiosity. I sat down to watch this twice. The first time, I saw 2 episodes and said: "this is boring and I dont care if it gets better".

The second time, I gave it another chance, I watched something like 5 episodes and came to the same conclusion.

The characters may be interesting for some, but to me, they were completely irrelevant. I didnt like any of them at all.

I know, that Steins Gate is the type of which you have to see 10-15 episodes at least to like it, so I dont want to give it a score. But still, I have to say, that if you want to watch this, you have to be really patient. I wasnt. If you want to watch it, have a whole day with nothing to do, dont watch it sporadically, because you wont like it.

Maybe when I run out of better series, I will revisit it a third time, but its doubtful to say the least.

Steins Gate has, lets say, a unique atmosphere, which may be appealing for many people, but for others, it will act as a repellent.

I only wrote this review, so people will see, that Steins Gate is not for everyone. Have fun if you like it!

Well for some anime, you just have to follow up the story to get to the good part you knoooow.

For example the first eleven episoded of Blood C are so boring that I stalled it 2 times, but then I got to the ending and then I realized how amazing it is. I rewatched it and now it's one of my favorites! ^^

Steins;Gate is not a bad anime in general, it's just one of those where you have to focus on the story... like Monogatari series or From The New World.
