i like: cooking. travel. music. single malt scotch. anime. dark beer. photography. baking bread. thurderstorms.

i've been watching anime for a long time and don't really remember what my first anime was, although i remember seeing speed racer as a kid and card captor sakura later.  studio ghibli movies peaked my interest more and evangelion hooked me... the discovery of this site 5 or so years ago accelerated my anime consumption.

i seem to really dislike some anime community pet favourites, such as the melancholy of haruhi suzumiya and clannad.

my rating system is totally inconsistent and is based partly on enjoyment and partly on quality of the show, with no actual science behind it.  every once in a while, i go back and re-evaluate my star ratings and find that i rarely increase the rating but often decrease it.

my watched list only contains series/movies/etc that i can remember watching, hence the absense of some of the things i watched as a kid/teen, but don't know how many episodes, etc.
