Hi there everybody. Just a little about myself. Im in college getting a Chemistry degree. My first Anime was Gundam Wing (No surprise there). Since watching my first anime my tastes have changed a lot.
I still like Action shows as my favorites will show. But these days I have really started to like Shoujo. Key things I like are character development, romance, and good use of drama to advance the plot of characters. Shows do not always need all three for me to like them.
I have also taken a real likening to funny anime. But action shows that contain good character development still interest me.
Some manga recommendations of mine in no particular order or specific genera.

Hello ^^ I must say, I am a fan of your list. I like Furuba, OHSHC, and I plan on reading Bitter Virgin. I love action and romance but I agree that character development is crucial. Otherwise, the story will fall flat or go into fluff entertainment mode. Not a big fan of that. I like anime and manga with substance.
