So this blog is going to be about this new anime that I started watching called GOSICK. As of now (now being the date I'm writing this) there are only three episodes and I'm really liking it so far! The main character, Victorique is so adorable in her lolita clothes and the way she described her current situation as being a captive princess seemed a bit like foreshadowing to me but I'm not calling it yet. Also, how could you not love her amazing ability(?) to solve every case thrown her way? I was never really one for mystery movies or novels (Nancy Drew never really did it for me) but Japan just seems to change my opinions on a lot of things lately. I even find myself trying to solve the mysteries too! Of course they are mostly wrong and since there has only been 3 episodes, I haven't had many oppurtuinities (fail spelling, sorry) but I have high hopes for how the rest of this anime is going to go mystery-wise.
As for Kujo, he easily fits one of my many versions of the perfect anime guy. I really like his art style and I'm sure he looks even better in the manga and I love the personal moments with him and Victorique. Like in the 3rd episode (pardon my spoilers) when the Hunting Dog is after them and he pushes Victorique into the radio room to protect her...Precious! And then right after that moment when they were in the library and Kujo was saying how they would go outside again, just the two of them, that was a total 'Awww' moment for me, Of course we've all seen it done many times with anime but it never ceases to make me go starry eyes at the sweetness of anime guys. Why can't real world guys be like that? Oh great now I'm starting to sound like Katsuragi from The World Only God Knows (comment if you know what I'm talking about!)
Hmm...which other characters to talk about...Oh! Grevil! That guy is very very creepy to me... I admit he does have that sense of comic mischief but that hair...it's just so disturbing...I mean Yugi's hair from Yu-Gi-Oh makes more sense than that! But I was not expecting him to be Victorique's half-brother. Not at all. I'm pretty sure that's going to come back to haunt us in future episodes but for now I'll just be content with looking at him funny whenever he's on screen.
One more thing! The mystery with Roxanne and the hares was really really well done to me. I loved how everything fitted together and I totally called the maid being the same girl that was with Julie. I even shouted that in my head, I'm so lame. I think that the whole 'hares' plot will be brought back to focus some time in the future and who knows, this might end up being an eve deeper anime than I had first thought... I'm also going out on a limb here and guessing that the whole anime will be 13 episodes long with maybe a second season. Either 13 or 23, I'm sticking with the threes here.
That's all I have to say for now. Comment if you have any opinions you want to share and I'll make sure to reply!
