Yuck, muddy snow is the worst possible snow ever. It makes the streets look even worse than before, like some sort of "after-flood scenery".On the other hand I absolutely love extremely cold temperatures. They are able to clear my head in a matter of seconds, as if they were a sense sharpening device.
My landscape is city grey unfortunately. There are some older parts of the city where it's the buildings have nice, old (renessaince/baroque) looks. And some part have a view on the sea. I live in a part filled with tall, ugly-looking grey buildings, so the snow really can really decorate this view in a more natural and enjoyable way.
And a bit late (since I was busy preparing some of the dishes for the "Christmas Eve dinner") , but still - Merry Christmas ^^. Hope you spent it in a warm atmosphere ;]
Glad to hear to made it safe; it just started snowing where I am now. I laughed when I read what you'd packed for Seattle because I did something similar when I had to rush out of town, after hastily moving all my things into a new apartment. At least three pairs of socks is better than none, and if you go to a party you have a dress ready--just combine it with one of the seven millions sweaters.
You knit? COOOL. What kind of things do you like to make? Scarves? I want one. OK, just kidding, but I'm always interested in different hobbies though I'm a little boring myself. In high school I liked to snowboard, cave, hike, and sail--almost anything someone offered--but now I'm poor and busy so I read, write, watch anime, play video games, and walk around Seattle. Anything else you're intested in?
*o* how cool, art history... I'm studying psychology and still living with my parents, university is pretty close. But must me great to live with 2 friends like that! :D
Operations Sister-Rescue has failed. Well, I did get here without too much trouble though. You're probably done with all of your finals by now: How'd they go? I'm sure the grains of your sandpaper consisted of diamonds (not conflict diamonds).
Your thesis sounds very interesting. Your words "It's just looking at pictures" should definitely work into it somehow. Now that I'm on break--I have a lot of time to spend in the guest room after I tick everybody off with Jesus Jokes--I've been able to work on reading books I want to. I should probably write something too before class sneaks up on me again. Taking any interesting classes next quarter? I hope your flight worked/works out.
p.s. I bribed my younger sister with anime but she still gets mad when I mention the possibility that Jesus surfs. (it's a long shot, but I like original images)
yes, I'm on vacations since last week ^^
are you living by your own (college)? what are you studying? I was really glad to have this break too, this semester seemed so long! now it's time to relax and catch up with some series XD
