Well as I'm sure you guessed from the title, I finished reading Train Man, which was my first manga series (with the exception of Barefoot Gen, but I don't really remember reading it... back in high school for an Asian studies class I think... or maybe American history... anyway... *focus!!*) almost EVER. So. These are my conclusions.
The story itself, while predictable and with almost no exception not particularly original or innovative, was absolutely charming. I'm completely overwhelmed with how adorable it was. The drawings were all right, but Train Man's face with his squiggly little smile of joy every time he gets a text message from Hermess causes me to curl up into a little ball of contentment. So I leave the story happy. The original part (or at least for me... maybe this isn't an uncommon theme in manga) was the relationship Train Man had with the other people in the forum. It would have been cute if the story was just Train Man and Hermess, but you got to understand Train Man as well as the world in which he had been living better through the way others responded to his thread.
Does anyone else have Windows 7? Does it ding to let you know everytime (and I mean every single freaking time) something happens? I click a link *ding* and then the page loads *ding* and I go back a page *ding* because I clicked the wrong link *ding* so I clicked *ding* another and scroll *ding*... okay okay so I exaggerate, but does this happen to everyone else? Or do I have some setting locked in place? Well, I'm going to scroll down *ding* and cick post *ding* and hopefully not go insane (does an inaction ie not going insane merit a *ding*?).
