Greetings and welcome to my profile.

Grew up with a love for science fiction and fantasy, which eventually led me to anime. I tend to prefer thought-provoking shows with dark and tragic elements. Shows with elements a bit left of centre or slightly odd tend to catch my attention.

Favourite Bands/Music:

Classical/Progressive Metal: Opeth, Porcupine Tree, Karnivool, Twelve Foot Ninja, Iced Earth, Cog, SoilWork, The Haunted, Paco Pena, Paco De Lucia, Dream Theater, Tool

The song is okay. The band is good, but I was never a fan of Pink Floyd.

Lol thanks. Metal and anime are my two biggest interests. I'm always listening to music. Though I know more about modern bands.

I have listened to Dark Tranquility in the past. They are pretty good. Melodic death metal is one of my favorite genres, and they are one of the first of the genre (along with At the Gates, and In Flames).

Have you listened to Queensryche before? A lot of people seem to like their old stuff.

Dragonforce was like that. Originally they were from New Zealand under the name Demoniac, but moved to London because of the poor metal scene. Its kind of a shame though. I don't like Dragonforce, but I like Demoniac. They had that blackened power metal sound, that was kind of strange, but pretty cool.

I was never really a fan of Machine Head, so I haven't listened to their new album.

If you like thrash, then I recommend the new band Essence if you haven't heard of them. Their first album just came out this year.

This has turned out to be a great month. Iced Earth, Insomnium, and Skeletonwitch released albums this month.

Thanks for the recommendation. I think I'm going to check out more of that band. It seems like all the Australian bands I've listened to are really good. Be'lakor, Empyrean, Aeternitas, and The Nihilist are all great Australian bands. If you liked Area 51, then you might like Dragon Guardian.

Shadow has one of my favorite vocalists, because you just don't see many women doing that type of vocals. Another band with great female death vocals is Cerebral Bore.

Sigh is probably one of the coolest bands I've heard. They are so random. Each album is completely different.

Thanks. I'll definitely check that stuff out. Into Eternity definitely sounds awesome.

I'm always looking for great Japanese metal bands. They can be hard to find, but the good ones are definitely awesome. I especially have a hard time finding Japanese metal bands that use clean vocals (ie power, thrash etc.). Usually the vocals just sound all the same, and are kind of boring. That thrash band Volcano is pretty good though.

I see that you like Dream Theater too. Have you listened to their new album. I've been listening to it a lot lately.
