Woah...do I know you...???? O.o

:p

As to moe...pretty much, lol.... :p It's not like being cute is a bad thing. One of my favorite qualities about Shiki is that she can be cute at times despite her usual killer visage. It really humanizes her, puts her in perspective, and I think she'd be much less of a sympathetic character without showing that she has a bit of a soft spot. But moe just...takes it over 9000, gawd. I could do  without it, and with the exception of its most well known representative, k-on, I don't think I've seen a moe anime that i've liked, or even a moe character that i've liked really...well, except fuuko, maybe. so sad....But that's cause her story is sad, not cause she's moe. Well, maybe just a little. :p

I really tried to have a little bit of everything in my list, so that hypothetically, all the important genres could be reconstructed with those shows as their templates. A "serious" slice of life/drama, an action show, a "historical" drama, a mecha/deconstruction, a horror/thriller, a scifi, a suspense/thriller, a slice of life/comedy/otaku-thing, a space odyssey/representative of older anime, an ecchi, and a miyazaki film. I definitely did consider all three of those shows you mentioned, but I felt Serial experiments was somewhat covered between perfect blue and gits, and samurai champloo captures that sort of ensemble journey feel that trigun/cowboy bebop/outlaw star have, although I guess I did kinda leave "space western out", but really I think we can agree those three are the only ones worth watching, yet they all have a similar blend of comedy and action in them to samurai champloo.

As to getting old, I've already started calling people "whipper-snappers" :p
