Tales From Earthsea is notable for two things. One is that it's the directorial debut of Goro Miyazaki, son of the legend Hayao. The other is being the one and only Ghibli film to have garnered a negative reputation among critics. With 2017 being quite the messy year, what with the hurricanes in the Atlantic, and the recent earthquake in Mexico, what better time to review a personal favorite disaster show of mine, Tokyo Magnitude 8.0. To start, I would just like to say this: if you're a writer looking to do large-scale tragedy, or child characters, this is essential viewing.
