Recently, I finished the anime H2O: Footprints in the Sand, which was recommended to me by a friend. Wanting to give it a chance, I watched it, and well, it's average. Overall, nothing to shout about.
However, the ending was fantastic. It was a perfect way to conclude the series. If only there had been better character development and plot in the episodes leading up to it, I might actually have cried. Which is saying alot. For me, at least.
The one thing that really pissed me off though, and didn't really make sense is how in the beginning, the goddess Otoha is basically like this:
"OMG! YOU CAN SEE NOW EVEN THOUGH YOU WERE CONDEMNED TO BLINDESS FOREVER! OMG THAT'S SO COOL!"
Yeah, that didn't make sense. Also, the amount of fanservice delivered did not match the overall serious tone of the anime. I think that if the creators had wanted to give a tasteful aspect to the anime, and had wanted it to be taken seriously, they should have halved the amount of panty-face-plants and random boob bouncing shots. Not to mention the stereotypical 'bouncing boob' noise.
I think the thing that really lowered my opinion of this anime, overall, was lack of consistency. One moment they're laughing, the next there's fanservice, and the next it's time for a really sad moment. I think they should have stuck to something that was easier to follow rather than a failed attempt at an emotional roller coaster ride.
And wow, this blog entry has turned into more of a review than a blog post :3
I'm sorry if you're mad at me for writing this, mayuchan369, but I tried to be as fair as possible when I was judging this :)
