Titles added to my list this year are Sora no Woto, Kimi ni Todoke, and I finished Hyouka.
Let's start with Hyouka. Let me get this out right now, I hated it. It was really only entertaining twice. I found the plot extremly dry and rather dissapointing. The characters were very basic and quite repetative. Between the nearly non-existant plot and boring characters, I have to give this anime a 2/5.
Next, Sora no Woto. This is a shounen, but could easily pass for shoujo (shoujo-ai at times), the only typical shounen things were the opening, military backdrop and awkward yuri/moe moments within the all female platoon. Even though Kanata is almost overly childish, I love her, and the relationship between her and the other girls was really fun to see. All in all this anime is super cute (not a word I use often), and I give it a 4/5.
Finally, Kimi ni Todoke. Great concept, I can honestly say that I liked the plot. You could say the plot is over used, basic shy girl plus popular guy equals love, but I enjoyed the twist, socially awkward and sometimes scary looking but sweet girl plus 'not as nice as I seem' boy. Sawako's genuine innocence was rather endearing, along with the fact that her awkwardness got her in some weird situations. However her shyness was also really frustrating, I found myself literally yelling at the computer "Just tell him! You idiot!". In the end I gave this a 4/5.
Currently I am at episode 20 of Shinsekai Yori (From the New World), which I find kinda weird and I really want to read the book that it's based on just so I can understand it better. I may end up having to rewatch it before I can post about it.
