Hi there.

First, I should probably admit that I've been the stray cat of the anime forums. When I'm here, I'm posting a lot and hanging with everyone. And then, I up and vanish for months at a time. Hopefully, now that life has settled down, I'll be a bit more consistent!

Hamletsmage: A Brief History

I was introduced to anime as many Americans were introduced to anime in the mid-90s, through Sailor Moon. I actually copied the art style for a long time, until I turned my attention to science and gave up drawing. However, I didn't pursue anime after Sailor Moon because like many Americans, I hadn't heard the term. It wasn't until my sophomore year of high school that a friend introduced me to Inuyasha and Fullmetal Alchemist and a bunch of other shows. Between Adult Swim and the Internet, I developed a love of anime and manga.

About My Anime List:

I rate on an arbitrary scale, depending on how I feel at the current moment, so ratings are liable to change on any given day. While I may stall things, this is usually because of school or work related issues rather than me not liking the anime. It is rare that I drop an anime (at this point, it's never happened) as I try to finish anything I start. I will watch just about anything, although I tend to go for shorter stuff since I can binge it in a day or two. And now, some stats!

Anime #300: Bleach Memories of Nobody

Anime #400: Jin: Lost Time Memory

Anime #500: Absolute Duo

Anime #600: Ojii-san no Lamp

Anime #700: Maiden Rose (thanks Thrawn)

Anime #800: Re:ZERO -Starting Life in a New World-

Anime #900: Valvrave the Liberator

Anime #1000: TBD

About My Manga List

I once had a summer where I read nothing but short manga. One shots, 1-4 volume stuff, of every variety. And then, I burned out on manga and didn't touch it for the longest time. In 2016, I joined the Daily Manga Marathon Club and got reintroduced to the media, so, my manga list will grow again. As long as the sappy shoujo doesn't kill me first. (And I will finish Bleach eventually... when I'm bored)

Manga #150: Crimson Shell

Manga #200: Watashitachi no Shiawase no Jikan

Manga #250:

About my contributions:

You may notice I've also done quite a few reccomendations. I'm currently working on building up my review count, as well. I'm also attempting to make comprehensive lists on how to get the studio badges. Because... I like badges.

Any Other Questions:

Post a comment on my wall or find me in the forums.

Hello, and thanks for adding custom lists on Anime-Planet!

The site currently utilizes privacy levels for lists, including ‘Private’ (the default value for custom lists), and ‘People who visit my profile’ for personal tracking (‘Things I plan to watch in 2016’) that your friends might want to know about, or personal challenge lists, etc. These can be seen in your profile, or everywhere across the site for those who follow you. Here’s a full writeup of the privacy levels.

Some of your lists have been changed to ‘People who visit my profile’ - you’ll see a small eye icon (that only you or your followers will see) next to these lists titles, because they don't list descriptions/reasons for the anime being on the list and/or they are personal-type lists. If you eventually decide to turn these into Community lists (lists with descriptive titles and explanations/reasons for each list item) feel free to change the privacy level to “Everyone” to make a list public. (A little note for each item why it made the list would be great to see!)

Community lists should almost always have a reason for each item, because the person reading will want to know why it’s good (or bad) or belongs on the list.  Listing reasons shows why THESE anime shows are included on YOUR list!

Thanks again, and let me know if you have any questions!

Hello DAMC participant!

I would like to tell you that there is about one day left before the fourth anime’thon will start. You have shown interest through either the chat, site or forums and would like to point your attention to the DAMC forumpost giving you the details and the rules of this marathon. This marathon will last for 31 days (from Sep 1st, 2016 until Oct 1st, 2016) with a new show revealed every day on the DAMC schedule. This site has a nifty countdown timer which will tell you exactly when the next show will be up. The time of reveal will be 12.00 GMT every day.

Out of these rules, there are some important rules we like to emphasize in this message. The first and main rule is that you have to keep up (no more than 7 days lagging behind) in order to qualify for making suggestions for the future and for you to achieve success in this anime challenge. Secondly is that you have to somehow communicate your rating in either the AP-Marathon chat, a profile comment to one of the organizers or a post in the aforementioned thread. This needs to be done within the 7 days lagging behind period.

We have 31 shows ready for you with user and organizer suggestions all the way through. Like previous anime marathons, we will organize groupwatches in the IRC chat mentioned above and our discord channel (ask any of the organizers for an invite to our discord channel). These groupwatches are completely optional. Let’s watch some shows you would otherwise never watch!

New changes in Marathon 4

  • Starting from this marathon onward, we will have a fourth organizer to keep things going smoothly. The new addition to the team is Nicknames, who you can contact with any questions, comments, feedback or rating submissions.
  • The googledocs sheet was getting too huge and has basically broken down. As a result, we have optimized and integrated the stats into the site. This is still a work in process, so it might be updated further as we progress through the month.

Hope to have given you the basics this way.

Have fun!

The DAMC team (SpanglishJC / ChalamiuS / Nicknames / XMrNiceguyX)
