It's been yet another random week of picture appearing on my facebook wall. Without further groaning about "Why did I start this stupid thing?!" I will present this week's categories.
Day 15 - Favorite music in an anime - Samurai Champloo (song: Obokuri Eeumi)
Samurai Champloo showcases a lot of different styles. From hip-hop and DJ styling to older-sounding period pieces. The quirky music suits the rather interesting trio on their journey, and I think that's why I really liked it.
Day 16 - Favorite Studio Ghibli/Miyazaki work - Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind
It had giant bugs, a courageous girl, and plenty of action. The environmental aspect of the movie didn't overshadow the great artwork and wonderful cast (as I have seen in other movies). If nothing else, it helped the movie have a fuller, richer feeling for me.
Day 17 - Favorite tsundere - Germany (Hetalia: Axis Powers)
I was looking for a character to fit the bill. I tend to be annoyed by the tsundere characters in anime more than anything else. When I came across Germany's name, I had to think for a moment. And yes, Germany is the perfect tsundere character. He captures Italy only to befriend him at a later date, all while blushing furiously at Italy's antics.
Day 18 - Best yandere character - Kotonoha Katsura
School Days brings up horrible memories because of this girl and her insanity. From the get go, you know there's just something... not right about her. But she's cute and innocent, so you let it slide. Then, she gets tossed aside and something in her just goes wrong.
Day 19 - Favorite shonen anime - Inuyasha
The first is always the favorite. Giant swords, magical arrows, and tornados that are somehow held back by a string of beads. >.> The side-romances in the story didn't take away from the action and they made for some interesting comedy. And I kind of had a crush on Sesshoumaru when I was a teenager.
Day 20 - Favorite shoujo anime - Fruits Basket
All the drama and humor of a shoujo without the annoying side-track romance story (which, yes, I know, takes center stage in the later manga volumes). Tohru - was clueless, but cute. The Sohma teens were adorably bishie and a tad tempermental (and turned into rather cute animals when hugged). The adults - needed therapy or something... And Akito - was a douche, a douche in drag.
Day 21 - Favorite seinen anime - Ah! My Goddess (and all variations)
While I kind of got annoyed with Belldandy and Keiichi's touchless romance, the rest of the show made up for it. Motorcycles, college drama, crazy siblings, and a demon without a clue. Who wouldn't want to live in a world where goddesses randomly pop out of nowhere to torment you... I mean make your life better.
