The way I rate anime might be different from others, not that anyone cares, but y'know, here it goes.
I rate the things I have watched based off of a 10 point scale, and then of course convert it to 5 for this site. I don't rate really anything under a 2 unless I didn't enjoy really anything about it. The characters were bland, the story was stupid, etc. And when I do encounter the show, I try to base my rating off of the few things I liked about it and then go from there. Now anything mediocre/average/not special to me ranges from about 3-3.5, which is around a 6-7.5. Things I really enjoyed get a 4. If the plot was decent/[pretty] good and I liked at least the main character(s), I think it usually deserves a 4. Some anime can be really close to a 3.5 or 4 depending on the show itself. I tend to like most things that I watch, so I usually rate it a 4, or 8/8.5. 4's usually deserve at least one rewatch in my opinion. Now, things that I thoroughly enjoyed and thought were nearly perfect receive a 4.5 rating, which coverts to a 9-9.5. These had a few minor things that were wrong with them that I could not look past, which is why I couldn't give them a perfect score, but they're so close. Now I don't give out 5 stars TOO often, but when I do, it's something that I can and will enjoy time and time again. Whether it was the overtopness of TTGL, the hilarity of Baka to Test/ TWGOK, etc, these anime hold a very special place in my heart that I will never forget. They left such an impact on me, for whatever reason; I will always remember the characters, never forget their names, and will continue to watch the anime over and over again because I know it will never get old. 10/10. So close to perfection in my opinion that I look over the little things because I know they aren't important. Just because I rate something one way, doesn't mean that is how everyone should look at it. I mostly base my ratings off of me and me alone. My personal opinion is all that matters to me, regardless of other things that I guess I -should- base my ratings off of, but don't because fuck it.
Um yeah, that's about it.
