Angel Beats was a great anime, in my opinion. I thought the storyline was pretty straightforward, with the right balance of tearjerker moments and hilarity. The music was awesome, as I found myself humming to the opening and ending song every chance I get. This was one of the few animes I've watched wherein I loved all of the characters. Because I wasn't able to stop watching it, I almost missed work the following day. But, it was definitely worth my time. For this anime, this was all I can do:
I must admit, after watching the first few episodes of Ouran High School, I seriously thought about dropping it because it simply just bored the heck out of me. Considering it fell under the comedic genre, it wasn't funny to me at all. I thought the characters weren't able to hold up and weren't interesting. Moreover, I was disappointed because I expected more from it, after reading reviews and forums and seeing how everyone seemed to love the anime. I guess it was just by sheer chance of me having choppy internet that day that I decided to continue watching the succeeding episodes which... read more
5 Centimeters Per Second is a very compelling story that left me crying especially during the third episode, when I was left to realize that it wasn't one of those typical love stories I'd usually encountered. I like how, in a sense, it all seemed so realistic; that no matter how much we want, no matter how much we love, and no matter how hard we try despite the circumstances, something inevitable will happen along the way which will lead us to making certain choices. Thus, also leading to a different end result. The various moods will leave you feeling as if you were one of the main... read more
This is one anime I feel I could watch over and over again and never get tired of it. I love how each of the characters has their own distinct personality that would bring a dash of humor as well as drama into the whole story line. One of the main characters, Tohru Honda, has dealt with her plight in such an unusual way (nowadays, at least) that one could not help the roil of emotions that it instills within you. Also, each of the characters has their own story to tell as well, which just encourages you to dive in deeper into the story, and find out how it concludes. There are also a lot of... read more
Somehow, I find the title Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya quite odd.
n. A deep, pensive, and long-lasting sadness.
adj. Sad, gloomy, or depressed.
Do any of these fit Haruhi Suzumiya? I wonder.
Can someone please enlighten me as to the whole point of this series? Is there even a deeper meaning into it, or is it just what it is? Plot? What plot? Chronological order or not, it was the same. The release version just made Haruhi, the main character, less immature and selfish. Seeing as it settled itself at 129th, I thought it was worth... read more
