Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust - Vampire story, romantic parts but overall good plot line and the animation was phenominal
Cowboy Bebop - fun little space adventure with a lot of action
My-Hime - girls rule type of anime with a lot of action packed fighting and heavy drama parts
Clannad - not finished yet but well worth the wait. Very nice school type anime with underlying issues

Since you liked Elfen Lied so much you should watch Death Note!!!! ^_^
