Baka and Test - Summon the Beasts

Mar 13, 2012

-Story- I found the story of Baka and Test to be both hilarious and entertaining at the same time. There were several moments that I was laughing quite hard about. The concept of the show was also interesting. The students take placement exams and based on those they are sent to different classrooms based on ability. The best classes get the best stuff, while the worst classes get the worse stuff. If students don't like their stuff, they can challenge another class to a "Summoner Test War" to get their stuff. I feel that this premise was presented well. Mixed in with this sort of sci-fi theme... See full review

Blessing of the Campanella

Oct 12, 2010

-Story-I did not really find the story of Shukufuku no Campanella all that good. At first it seems like a lighthearted fantasy story that one falls in love with for being charming, but halfway through it tries to become a story that leads up to a final showdown, which just didn't work with this series. It also had one of those annoying endings with some lame sappy morale that all of the characters learn in the end and then everything is peaches and cream from that point on. I thought the ending was extremely lame. Some of the jokes seemed to be too repetitive, and I thought that the ecchi moments early on... See full review

Barefoot Gen

May 24, 2010

-Story-This is a very depressing story. It is a story about a boy who lived in Hiroshima in 1945, so we know from the lessons of history that this is not going to be a happy story. When the atomic bomb is dropped, Gen experiences the untimely deaths of his father and brother and sister, leaving him and his mother to try and survive the living hell that is post atom bomb Hiroshima. This is a very deep story, and it really makes one think. It makes one wonder "Why did the United States drop the atom bomb?" and "Was it really worth all the suffering that was caused by it?". Another thing... See full review

Blue Submarine No. 6

Apr 5, 2010

-Story-The story seemed to be pretty good for the most part, and provided me with some good entertainment. I did like the idea of Humanity fighting for its survival, even though it is not an original concept. However I did not like the rogue scientist idea, and thought that it had been overdone and stereotypical. What bothered me the most was how ridiculous the enemies of humanity looked. I would have prefered it if they had not been shown. One thing that I did like about it was that it had a good main idea that it got across and made it very clear. -Animation-As I have mentioned before, the enemies looked... See full review

Big Windup!

Jan 18, 2010

-Story-The story of Big Windup is for the most part entertaining. I was glad that they made the whole game that they were playing entertaining, and not just the 9th inning. However there were times when the story seemed to get repetitive, and the story itself moved at an incredibly slow pace. Despite the plot being entertaining, I found it to be nothing special. There was little in the way of depth to the story either. Despite this there where times when I laughed, and times where I really felt the moment that was being presented to me. Overall, the story is entertaining, but it is a bit thin and it moves... See full review
