I finally decide to write a little something about myself. The very first anime' that I ever saw was Dragon Ball Z. I wasn't even 5 then when I first saw Goku battle Cell. It was so action packed, I could hardly wait to watch the next episode. Unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to. A few days later, my family and I moved to the Micronesian Islands and we'll be there for about 7 years. That also means no anime' for 7 years at least. During those times, my love for computer and games developed.
After those 7 years, I return to my homeland and began high school. There, with the recommendations from my friends, discovered anime'. I would often watch Flame of Recca, Yu Yu Hakusho, Dragon Ball Z, Doraemon, and Slam Dunk from the local TV station. I found them very good. But when I discovered that I can watch them English Subbed and Japanese Dubbed, my intensity grew! I slowly shifted from the local network to Animax and eventually, a random japanese channel that we got on cable. I got to watch X-1999, Evangelion (with graphic scenes cut), and G-On (Glasses On).
After TAFE and after I started working, I found more otakus like me! ^_^ One of them would even go so far as to try to learn Nihongo so that she won't have to rely on subtitles anymore. Despite plans to go learn Nihongo with her, they were just cancelled due to lack of time and budget. But despite that, she found ways to develop her Nihongo skills, just by watching English Subbed anime'.
