Animation is so many art forms rolled into one: film, music, illustration, and storytelling. I love the art, smooth animation, the character design, the perfect soundtrack enterlaced with a great story. It is the only entertainment I prefer. I collect it as if it were art. Anime, although it has plenty of shallow entertainment to please the masses just like any other type of film, often delivers the artful animation that I crave. Although I do occasionally enjoy a goofy anime, too. (Yakitate, anyone?)
