This is the Two-hundred-and-fifth week of using the "Perfect Anime Girl Sheet". Notice: This Blog may contain Unmarked Spoilers.
Today's girl is:
Hair: Starting at Kagura's hair we can see it's already not great for my tastes. I'm not one for red or orange hair colors, and that's not even counting the fact that I'm not big on "side buns" either. Sure, Kagura's black caps covering her buns fit her personality and outfit, but I'd much rather have longer hair. I suppose that without her buns her hair is about shoulder length but we don't see it too often. There are a few other hairstyles (Gintama is a parody show so they're able to get away with changing hairstyles for a gag or episode). One particularly bad one involved her balding due to a cursed item. My favorite hairstyle? Probably when she's posing as a male host for a host club. She keeps it long in addition to being straight and pulled back except for a bit of bangs. Still, her normal hairstyle is "probably" the most well known so I wouldn't change it.
Eyes: Kagura has pretty nice blue eyes. As far as Shonen goes, anyway. Sometimes they're not as good, but I'll say that they're acceptable. They're simple but have a lot of range as well. Kagura doesn't hide her emotions either so her eyes show a lot of emotion. She's a wide-eyed girl as well, and her eyes have an innocent look to them. Overall I do like her eyes even if they're not impressive.
There are times that Kagura DOES wear glasses. To be fair though, they're the coke bottle-like ones that I'm not all that impressed by. She usually wears them in the Ginpachi-sensei segments which are short omake-like skits. She also wears goggles on occasion, though that's mainly on her forehead than in front of her eyes.
Face: Much like her eyes, Kagura's face is pretty simple. As a shonen heroine she wasn't designed to be "moe" and instead is a pretty realistic face-wise. She's still nice to look at though, and she does look sweet on occasion. Other occasions she looks very creepy.
Case in point... Pleasant dreams!
Overall she's a rarely serious girl and is usually smiling outside of battle. She does have small features, but as she picks her nose (a bad habit she picked up from Gin) her nose can be easily pointed out.
Build: First things first I'd like to describe why Kagura is so strong. It's because she's from an alien race called the Yato (though to be fair aliens are referred to as "Amanto" in the series). Because of this, her physical strength and agility are nearly unmatched. Fortunately she's in a shonen show and she's able to show off her talents quite a bit. She also has healing factor and can survive even gunshot wounds. However, the downside is that she can't stand being in the sun for an extended period of time. This gets better, but the show explains it being on account of her doing all her stunts in the studio instead. There's only been one time when she's been completely at the mercy of her Yato blood, and she became VERY bloodthirsty during that moment.
As far as body shape goes, Kagura is not very special. She's built like you'd expect a teenage girl to be. Not necessarily shapely but good in her own way. I don't want to call her "child-like" but she really doesn't have much for curves. She's slender but not hippy. Rather than a body part I'd say that her most well-known feature is her strength and endurance as I talked about before. I'm not counting the Time Skip arc as that was all one big joke, but if that's a judge of what she'll look like 2-3 years I'd certainly enjoy it (her body gets curvier and her legs get more attractive as well). She's 155 cm tall and 40 kg (5'1" and 88 lbs), making her shorter than the other two leads in Gintama (though to be fair they're men).
Breasts: Kagura is pretty much flat. This was done on purpose for the loli appeal and the anime makes that known. She does have somewhat of a chest, but nothing that a normal teenage girl wouldn't. She's not used for the sexual jokes, after all. Well, again, I shouldn't count the Time Skip arc as that was a joke, but she did have good-sized breasts in that.
Clothes: Technically Kagura wears all kinds of outfits. She works at a place called "Odd Jobs" so it makes sense and that's not even counting costumes used for gags. Her usual outfit consists of a red china dress with yellow decor. She also wears heavy boots as well as occasionally pants underneath. As far as me and china dresses, I'm not the biggest fan of them. That said, I do like Kagura's outfit; form-fitting china dresses work best with slender and flat women and the coloring seems to fit well. It also goes well with her umbrella, which is also handy for keeping the sun off her and enemies at bay.
Personality: I won't repeat what I've already said about Kagura being super strong as well as super tough. Instead, I'll talk first about her personality and then her family.
The first thing most people notice about Kagura is that she's very naive about common things. This makes her seem youthful or childish, and indeed she doesn't do much to make people rethink that. Her playing with young boys around in games like tag or with a ball is probably a common sight in the neighborhood. Not only that, but she's picked up plenty of boyish traits such as rough and blunt language and unladylike motions like nose-picking or scratching herself. She's even proud of being the first Shonen Jump heroine to vomit. She's a carefree character and is a bit dim (possibly, it's unknown how smart she might actually be). She's a bit bullheaded at times and is a sore loser who does almost anything to win. She's also the type that is always hungry (partially because she, like the other leads in Gintama, lives in near poverty) and has to chew on her favorite food: Dried seaweed (Sukonbu). She has plain tastes and enjoys eggs and rice as well and can eat a lot in a short period of time. She's a bit of a tsundere, but not in the way that it would define her personality. It's actually not surprising considering her VA is Rie Kugimiya. Speaking of her voice, she talks in an anime-style Chinese accent adding -aru to her sentences. In English she instead punctuates her sentences with yup, uh-huh, nope, and the like. All in all, I probably haven't described her personality very well; she's a VERY interesting and unique character but I can't give her points for not adhering to my "usual" grading.
As far as family she has a father (who goes out killing monsters, but keeps in touch with her since his introduction) and a brother (who is her "main" rival and has teamed up with the main enemy). She was "abandoned" by her father after her mother died (as he was afraid that the Yato blood would get to him and cause him to go berserk, killing his family) and she eventually made her way to Earth. While there, she was penniless and got hired as a thug by a gang. However, she eventually met Gintoki and, well, the rest is history. Kagura became a near-child for Gin and is still in his care, living in the closet at his house. She even picked up many of his mannerisms and takes advice from him, no matter how incorrect it is. She also lives with a large white dog named Sadaharu that she keeps as a pet (technically his name is Sadaharu the 27; Kagura and her super strength doesn't let her keep pets very well...).
Libido: Kagura doesn't show her emotions that often, but occasionally she'll have to deal with it as a plot point.
Age: Kagura's age is fourteen to fifteen years old. She acts younger though as she's a childish teenager. Also, an interesting fact is that her birthday is November third, so happy early birthday!
