This is the Hundred-and-ninety-third week of using the "Perfect Anime Girl Sheet". Notice: This Blog may contain Unmarked Spoilers.
[center]Today's girl is:
Kurisu (Christina) Makise
Hair: Kurisu's hair is close to my tastes. It's long, which is always nice, and reaches approximately to her mid-back or so. It's also pretty straight which is a plus, as well as the sides by her head going nearly that long as well. Her bangs come to a point in the center of her face, and even give a slight X where they cross. The main disadvantage is, of course, that it's red. Not too bad compared to a bright-red girl, but I do have to penalize her for it. An interesting difference is that in the Visual Novel Kurisu seems to be more brown which would be better. Still, I don't completely dislike her red hair due to how dark of a shade it is. On the topic of the VN, do note that the art is a much "grittier" art style. It gives a nice "aged" look but I'm not all for it.
Eyes: I'm not a fan of the eyes in Steins;Gate. I can see that they were going for a unique look, which did work. However, there are times when it looks off-putting. In series it isn't as much of a problem, but there's something odd for me when looking at images. It might be because their pupils are so round and you can see nearly the entire circle. Outside of this oddity, I do like Kurisu's eyes. They're a nice pretty blue color, and her eyes often look D-shaped due to how serious she is. It gives her a nice tsurime or so. She's got cool eyes, and outside of the problems I have they look good. Unfortunately, unlike many "mad scientists", Kurisu does not wear glasses.
Face: Kurisu doesn't have a perfect face for my tastes either. It makes sense as Steins in general is a more "serious" show, but it's not like I completely dislike her either. Depending on the camera's angles she might appear to have smaller features but she's got a pretty significant nose-line. She is pretty cute, especially when she gets embarrassed and blushes. Though in the beginning she's more tsundere and serious, I like her like that as well. Her best is still the cute cries and smiles near the end though.
Build: Kurisu has an alright body. There's nothing really "wrong" with her, it's just average and given the fact that I already said that Steins is somewhat more "serious" or "realistic" means that's probably the best she could do. That said, again she's not terrible. She's slender and nicely sized height-wise at 160 cm and weighs 45 kg. I will say though that her best feature are definitely her sexy legs. And even moreso because she tends to wear pantyhose and the like to show them off well! Her stomach isn't bad either, but it's a shame that it's not shown off as much.
Breasts: As befitting her body type, Kurisu also doesn't have a large rack. It's not like she's flat, she IS somewhat endowed. However, she's likely the smallest chested girl in the series (Gender Benders notwithstanding).
Clothes: In series Kurisu doesn't have much of a wardrobe as she only really wears one outfit. That said, it is a GOOD outfit. She wears a white blouse with a red necktie on top. As for her bottom half, I had originally thought that she was wearing a skirt, but it's actually black shorts. The reason I couldn't tell is because they're so short that you can't see them in some images. Her pantyhose doesn't help as it's black like her shorts and hides it, though I wouldn't want her to get rid of her pantyhose. She also wears a brown overcoat, which is one of my least favorite things about her design. The coat itself isn't bad, it's more of the way she wears it; she keeps it falling off in back, but ties it to her forearms using straps. She should just put it on all the way! Occasionally the brown coat is replaced with a lab coat which looks sexy as well.
As far as official art, Kurisu wardrobe increases. She gains a cute cat-eared waitress outfit, a nice striped Yukata, what I can guess as an "idol" outfit, and no less than FIVE bikinis (one spotted, one checkered, one pure red, one white with blue stripes, and one blue)!
Personality: As I've said before, Kurisu is a tsundere. To be fair, she's on the lighter side that, if she wasn't provoked she probably wouldn't be so bitter. Some things that make her angry include calling her "Christina" or another nickname. She might be considered "Yandere" by some, especially by those that have listened to her Drama CD, but I won't consider that canon. Mostly because I'm frightened by yanderes. Still, calling her a tsundere is even talked about by the characters so it only makes sense to call her that. It's especially fitting as she's a closet nerd. She even uses internet slang on occasion as well as having knowledge of what 2chan is. She's also not a good cook.
Probably a major factor in Kurisu's personality is her intelligence. She's a remarkable scientist and is skilled at many things. For example, she's mainly a neuroscientist, but she's also interested in theoretical physics. She's even so smart that she's considered the mother of the time machine! However, her intelligence came at a cost. Her father is pretty abusive towards her, even going as far as to stab her to death in a heated argument. Not only that, but her colleagues are either jealous of her or didn't want to talk with her. This may be where she developed her complex and became tsundere as a defensive maneuver. She's a girl in dire need of affection, but her cynical and stubborn self pushes people away until Okabe, the male lead, got her to join his group of friends. I like how they showed her slowly trust the characters rather than doing it the easy way.
As far as voices, Asami Imai did a wonderful job bringing Kurisu to life. I really liked her voice.
Libido: Like a lot of tsunderes, Kurisu doesn't like Okabe at first. This isn't helped by the way the show ends up with time travel and sort-of past selves. However, she does eventually start to get cute and blushy all over him near the end. I do really like the love that they share as well. After all the things that Okabe went through just to get through the story they certainly deserve each other. They're a great couple who deserved their good ending. Not only that, but in the OVA, when they're stranded in the desert Kurisu finally admits her love to him. While it's not a "sexual lust" that I usually grade here, the relationship between Kurisu and Okabe is still one of the best I've seen. She is revealed to be a virgin and had never gone on a date as well.
Age: Kurisu, although being in college, is only eighteen. This is because she was able to skip a grade due to how intelligent she is.
Total Grades: 76
Average score: 8.4
Final Grade: B
