~Welcome to my Profile~

I'm an anime fan (obviously) and started watching a few as a child such as Pokemon, Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball Z, Inuyasha, etc. (Toonami ... ahh, the nostalgia ...). I stopped watching anime about the time I hit high school and didn't get back into it until 2010 or 2011 when a friend of mine started pushing me into watching Ouran High School Host Club ... and I caved. The rest is history! xD

I have eclectic taste. Which I'm sure you'll notice if you peek at my list! I watch anything that I think sounds interesting, regardless of genre.

My favorite genres include: Comedy, Shounen, Sports, Yaoi, and Slice of Life

My least favorite genres include: Tragedy, Harem, Shoujo-ai (or Yuri), and Horror

My favorite manga is Akatsuki no Yona ... which is also my favorite anime.

I'm also very much addicted to fanfiction and spend far too much time on FF.net. It's an addiction I tell you!

Favorite non-anime show is definitely Merlin ... which ended a few years back ... I still miss it! T^T

I'm also addicted to watching Who Do You Think You Are?

and also Big Bang Theory 'cause Sheldon is all kinds of awesome! xD

As to my anime ratings ... think of them like this:

5 Star = Masterpiece

4 1/2 Star = Near Perfection

4 Star = Awesome

3 1/2 Star = Good

3 Star = Okay

2 1/2 Star to 1/2 Star = Varied Suckage ... from Bad to Horrendously Atrocious

If you're here to chat then feel free to leave me a message and I'll get back to you when I see it.

Oh, and my manga list is not updated very often. I go on reading binges but rarely, if ever add it to my AP list or my MAL list so ... yeah. I've read a TON of manga. It just doesn't look like it 'cause I don't keep track. Also, I finally got around to importing my MAL list since I updated it more frequently but several failed to transfer over as AP doesn't have them listed on the site ... -_-'

My MAL account is duchessliz87 for the curious....

Comedy animes are great, especially the ones that are over the top :)) Seto no Hanayome, Papuwa, Level E, Gintama, School Rumble, Air Gear, History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi, Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge ( and many more ) - these made me laugh so hard that I could barely stop. They say laughing prolongs your life, if that's true, then these animes just made me near immortal :))

I was always character oriented when watching/playing something, be it anime, movies, video games... Great characters add so much depth to it, without them all would be so generic. Story plays an important part too, but the characters are who make it really interesting.

I never tried watching animes where the main focus is the shoujo-ai/yuri theme, though I did watch animes that had those moments ( like Mnemosyne for example ) It is an interesting anime and while those scenes don't bother me, I don't care for them enough to start watching that genre.

I'm kinda on the same boat with tragedy animes. I don't consider it a favorite genre of mine, because whenever something tragic happens to a character I like, I'll definitely start crying :S ...but I think tragic elements are inevitable. Sooner or later there will be a tragic end to a favorite character, it happened way too often with my favorites. Ironically enough there are quite a lot tragedy anime that I like. Some of these are Basilisk, Parasyte and Wolf's Rain ( though mostly the OVAs - I refuse to accept that those ever happened! ) etc.

Yeah, Zoro was amazing in Thriller Bark! :) He is such a noble and fierce warrior who cares a lot about his friends, his character is well written and has seen such a big development. Though all of One Piece is like that I think, it's overall a very complex and stunning series.

I feel the same XD I like romance in yaois way better than in other animes, somehow those male x male romances ( well there are some exceptions ) are handled with such perfection *nosebleed*

The reason I have so many posters is because I got lucky :) One of my former classmates has a printing business and soon as I heard about it I asked him if he would be willing to print out some posters for me. He said sure and the first time I brought him 30 or so, the next time more, after that even more and that's how I reached this high number :)) ( and I have the same amount of gaming posters too, I'm crazy XD ) It wasn't free of course but it was still way cheaper, the price they charge you for a poster where I live is insane...sometimes even more than 30 dollars...and you can only buy them through the internet, add some postal charges to that and you got yourself a pretty expensive poster. It's crazy!

I'm so glad they invented the internet XD Without it I wouldn't even know about the great animes out there. We used to have one channel which aired animes and after a few years, due to it's low popularity they cancelled it...It makes me cringe how anime is almost frowned upon where I live...Living in the mountains must be really nice, though those power outs and falling trees don't sound good. Just stay safe :)

You are right, it is a good thing if I have a lot more animes to watch :) I think these will keep me entertained for a few years to come and new ones are coming out very often so I hope I won't find myself devoid of anime any time soon :D

Thank you so much! I hope it proves to be a good anime, as first episodes go it seems promising. I didn't see many of last season, but I heard KyoAni is awesome. I've been impressed so far, so fingers crossed!
