I'm a huge fan of the original OVA, and as can be expected, I was quite hostile to this reboot... I first tried watching this a few years after it aired, but I promptly dropped it!
Now, with all that said... As a standalone series, it was actually quite decent. :] I was glad to see our hero and heroine reunited, and I think she may have really "messed him up" on purpose there at the end. ;]
I think I'll be going on to watch the sequel and prequel shortly.
