I'm a 19-year-old guy who lives in Europe and enjoys watching anime, movies and playing video games. English is not my native language so excuse any grammar or spelling mistakes.
I consider my first anime to be Devil May Cry which I watched due to fact that I loved the game Devil May Cry 3 and was waiting for Devil May Cry 4 to come out. Even though I have seen anime (Pokemon, Digimon, Beyblade, Yu-Gi-Oh, etc.) in my childhood, they are not added to my 'Watched' list and are not considered the first ones I saw due to the fact that at the time I watched them, I was about 7-10 years-old and a word 'anime' was a never-heard before wonder to me. I referred to them as 'cartoons'.
From age 10 to 13 I didn't watch any anime or cartoons at all due to my belief that cartoons are childish and it would be indecent (read: childish) for a person my age to watch them. Devil May Cry changed this opinion and opened a never seen world before me called 'anime' The story telling, animation and violence impressed me so I decided to check out more. My second anime was Elfen Lied and after that came Death Note.
I dislike overrated and unnecessarily prolonged anime. Though surely, I might pick an anime to watch based on its popularity, I won't jump on the bandwagon and say that it's good just because everyone else seems to do so. I form my own opinions and I base my judgments on my own experience. I don’t expect people to necessarily agree with me, but I expect others to respect my opinions as I try to respect theirs.
Star rating represents the enjoyment I get out of the anime and not necessarily my 'objective' opinion of it. So just because I’ve rated something 5 out of 5 stars doesn’t mean I think it’s perfect.
Feel free to ask me anything =)
