about me

I'm a 20-year-old guy from Europe and I enjoy watching anime, movies and playing video games. English is not my native language, so please excuse any grammar or spelling mistakes in my reviews, blogs, etc.

When it comes to my anime history, I consider my first one to be Devil May Cry: The Animated Series.  I'm a huge fan of a PlayStation 2 title called Devil May Cry 3 and, at the time, was anticipating for Devil May Cry 4 to be released, so my friend and I ended up watching it. Even though I had seen various anime (such as Pokemon, Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh etc.)  in my childhood prior to that, they are not added to my Watched  list and I’m reluctant to call them “the first” anime I’ve seen due to the fact that at the time I was not aware of the concept of “anime” and referred to them as “cartoons” instead. I consider the DMC animated series to be a reference point in my life when it comes to me and my attitude towards anime, thus only anime watched after DMC is added in my Watched list.

From age 10 to 13 I didn't watch any anime or cartoons at all due to my belief that sort of media is childish and it would be juvenile for a person of my age to watch them. Devil May Cry changed this opinion and opened a never seen world before me called "anime".  The story telling, animation and violence both surprised and impressed me, so I decided to check out more of it. My second anime was Elfen Lied and after that came Death Note. Though Devil May Cry: The Animated Series is what initially peaked me interest, it’s both Elfen Lied and Death Note that completely sold me on the concept and both still are two of my favourite anime.

I dislike overrated and unnecessarily prolonged (milked) anime. Though surely, I might pick an anime to watch based on its popularity, I won't jump on the bandwagon and say that it's good just because everyone else seems to do so. I form my own opinions and I base my judgments on my own experience. I don’t expect people to necessarily agree with me, but I expect others to respect my opinions as I try to respect theirs.

Star rating represents my enjoyment of anime and not necessarily my "objective" opinion of it. So just because I’ve rated something 5 out of 5 stars doesn’t mean I think it’s perfect - it means I highly enjoyed it and would watch again. In my anime reviews, I try to give more „objective” ratings and always back them up with solid arguments. That being said, all reviews still are opinions and all opinions are subjective.

Feel free to ask me anything =)

I already have To Aru Majutsu no Index on my "want to watch list". Will definitely give it a try though i still am not too much a fan of middle schoolers.

So True! I too am sick of all those multi-player oriented games dominating the market. Companies seem to think all people need is a cliche story, loads of graphics and repetitive multiplayer for a "enjoyable gaming experience". That is one of the reasons why i choose games like Bioshock, MGS, Persona and a few others over all these mainstream COD and DOTA games.

Ahh the HD Collection. I wish i had a PS3 so i could also play them all again (as well as MGS4, which i never got a chance to play) but i guess i will wait for the PS4 and buy whichever new MGS game is out. Anyways how is the HD Collection? Is it only a graphics update or did they change the story too?

Yeah please write the review. I would like to see what others have to say about it. Like i said, i will be sure to add my own opinions and comments on it :)

Haha sorry but i have played the game :P Actually i picked it up almost a month ago and tried it on a PS2 emulator on my PC. I LOVED it. Went through all three endings and barely managed to hold my tears lol. The gameplay had a value close to what Metal Gear Solid gave me.

Yeah Persona 4 only has one review i think so go ahead and write another. I was planning to do so myself in the next few weeks but if your doing it then its all good. Honestly my view on Persona 4 will be horribly biased because i freakin loved the game and liked the anime. True the anime seems rushed and "chunky" but the studio that made it was under a very tight budget or so i heard. 7 would seem fair, as long as the story and characters get a very high rating. The animation wasn't all that good i admit and the fights were cut down. Even so i believe other non-Persona fans would still enjoy it. Go ahead, write the review and tell me when you do. I will be sure to comment on it.

I beat Crystal once haha, I have a DS and I'm so addicted to Pokemon games that I bought pretty much all the ones for the DS including the newer one Black & White ~ but theres so many new generations of Pokemon I'm starting to loose track, I used to know every single one lol

Thats the whole reason I bought Persona too, the art mostly and afterwards I fell in love with it, In fact I remember the day I saw Persona 4 in a magazine and finally I bought it (later on I bought Persona 3) but yes I agree story is important :)
