I'm a 20-year-old guy from Europe and I enjoy watching anime, movies and playing video games. English is not my native language, so please excuse any grammar or spelling mistakes in my reviews, blogs, etc.

When it comes to my anime history, I consider my first one to be Devil May Cry: The Animated Series.  I'm a huge fan of a PlayStation 2 title called Devil May Cry 3 and, at the time, was anticipating for Devil May Cry 4 to be released, so my friend and I ended up watching it. Even though I had seen various anime (such as Pokemon, Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh etc.)  in my childhood prior to that, they are not added to my Watched  list and I’m reluctant to call them “the first” anime I’ve seen due to the fact that at the time I was not aware of the concept of “anime” and referred to them as “cartoons” instead. I consider the DMC animated series to be a reference point in my life when it comes to me and my attitude towards anime, thus only anime watched after DMC is added in my Watched list.

From age 10 to 13 I didn't watch any anime or cartoons at all due to my belief that sort of media is childish and it would be juvenile for a person of my age to watch them. Devil May Cry changed this opinion and opened a never seen world before me called "anime".  The story telling, animation and violence both surprised and impressed me, so I decided to check out more of it. My second anime was Elfen Lied and after that came Death Note. Though Devil May Cry: The Animated Series is what initially peaked me interest, it’s both Elfen Lied and Death Note that completely sold me on the concept and both still are two of my favourite anime.

I dislike overrated and unnecessarily prolonged (milked) anime. Though surely, I might pick an anime to watch based on its popularity, I won't jump on the bandwagon and say that it's good just because everyone else seems to do so. I form my own opinions and I base my judgments on my own experience. I don’t expect people to necessarily agree with me, but I expect others to respect my opinions as I try to respect theirs.

Star rating represents my enjoyment of anime and not necessarily my "objective" opinion of it. So just because I’ve rated something 5 out of 5 stars doesn’t mean I think it’s perfect - it means I highly enjoyed it and would watch again. In my anime reviews, I try to give more „objective” ratings and always back them up with solid arguments. That being said, all reviews still are opinions and all opinions are subjective.

Feel free to ask me anything =)

Yeah alot of people are prejudice but thats because they know nothing about it and everything animated they have seen has been aimed at kids.

Aigis is my favourite character ever, I love persona 3.

In the end it is your choice but i still recommend you give Naruto a 5-10 episode try. Don't worry, no one is asking you to watch all the 200 episodes in one shot (i tried really hard but failed :P loved it that much). Give it like 2 episodes a day or more if you want.

I also say drop Dantes Inferno. It is a 2 hours waste of your life. Read my review on it for more information. You will not like it and yes Dante DOES scream "Beatrice" a whole lota times in the anime too, if i remember correctly

Agreed 100% on the Hollywood part. The last Hollywood movie with a decent storyline was "Dark Knight" (well, the last Hollywood movie i watched with a good storyline). Hollywood has just arrived at that point in entertainment anime left 30 years ago, a part filled with cliches and unused potential.

Haha, magical girl, didn't know that. I heard it had some mature themes to it so i decided to give it a try but if you insist, i'd rather keep my 25 mins of life.

As for Naruto. Yes i know what you mean. Fan-newbs will bombard you with recommendation for their favorite anime or manga, not waiting to see the preferences of the person they are victimizing. I had the same story for Naruto at start, i hated the series...because i never watched it before. I was like "what retarded boy with a fox inside goes around fighting etc..." but then a friend asked me to start the first episode and i did, and i liked it.

I say give it a try, just the first episode. You might start liking it and oh, the fanboys/fangirls will stop bothering you.

It was the middle of the night, i still had half my coca Cola bottle left (i drink a lot of that poison when i watch anime) and Dantes Inferno was the first anime that caught my eye. I gave it a try and since i felt horrible i couldn't play the game (sine i don't have PS3)i decided to stick with the anime. Yep, it WAS horrible.

Your Welcome. Yeah i am not a big fan of Hollywood for more than a few reasons. Of course, i recommend you check the animes i mentioned to see how bad they really are, and looking at the types of anime you don't like as mentioned on your profile, i am sure you will hate them as much as i did.

Hmm School Days OVA, will be sure to check it out.

As for your profile, I've had a really similar story, but for me, fame IS a big factor for me mainly because many "low fame" animes i have watched didn't turn out to be good or enjoyable. Of course it is not the only factor but it does play a small role. I don't discriminate anime (lol) but i would prefer ones that other people liked (i have little room for watching useless anime, what with my internet usage limit and all)
