Hey. You should get Netflix. And watch Digimon.
So, you should forget about what I said about returning to Atelier Shallie right away...because now I'm playing The Awakened Fate Ultimatum, a sequel game that after having played, I realized it should never have been made. It's a game about a high schooler who becomes God after being killed during a war between angels and devils. Throughout, the player will need to make "ultimatums" and deal with the consequences such as choosing between attempting to save 10 lives with a low probability (angel choice) or saving 6 of the 10 with much greater odds (devil choice); another example is picking between killing a prisoner with a family or letting the person live. I keep picking the angel choice and almost everyone has repeatedly viewed my decisions as God to be incorrigible... Needless to say, these angels have been twisted from the bloodshed for so long that they can hardly be seen as the holy entities they're widely identified as. This game has been quite dark from the start...a much more serious tone than The Guided Fate Paradox, the prequel. It's not going to take very long to beat though.
Have you beaten Shallie yet? Yeah, I love making the most powerful equipment I can at the time - I'm someone who always looks forward to any new shops in RPGs and deciding if I should buy new equipment now by comparing the benefits or wait until the next town. Making your character more powerful is the best, haha. Speaking of Drakengard 3, did you finally beat it? You may not be able to have Awin, but Escha's DLC was released Tuesday if you want her. =P
Or maybe, you know, deep down you thought it was that low of a show... How horrible! Onoda gave it his all and you thought it was boring?! Get out! I've stalled Shippuden because of the filler arc. =/ I wonder what will happen first: the end of Shippuden's airing or my graduation next spring. >D To think I've been watching Naruto since I think near the start of middle school baffles me...
I'm crying for your childhood right now, for reals. When I think that you missed out on the enjoyment that Digimon gave to children everywhere, it's truly sad. You really do not know what you were missing out on! Go watch the first season. Do you have netflix? Go!
I'm thinking about returning to Shallie either at the end of this week or the start of next. I stopped playing Digimon World 3 when I realized I shouldn't have chosen to train 3 Digimon at the same time - I'd have a lot of wasteful grinding ahead of me if I stuck with it. Some day I'll do my team right on another playthrough from the beginning. After I defeat Red in HeartGold (probably today when I get my team to level 60), Shallie is next in line. Do I have another game to beat following Shallie as well? Of course I do! Busy, busy.
Speaking of Solle, he's DLC if you wanted him. Too bad you can't get Awin... Escha should be releasing as DLC next week or soonish, but I don't know if I'll purchase her; I'm not that big on DLC. *throws some praise at you for improving your synthesis skills* Huzzah!
PS: And geez, you about gave me a heart attack when I saw in my feed that you had rated Yowamushi Pedal: Grande Road at 2 stars, but then 4.5 stars. I swear, if you didn't fix that, I don't think we could be friends anymore. =/
So... Who hasn't been playing Atelier Shallie at all? Me. I've been rewatching Digimon Frontier and it made me want to replay Digimon World 3, one of my all-time favorite games (my second favorite PS1 game, behind The Legend of the Dragoon). That game takes a while to finish, with all of the constant running back and forth and random encounters (I wouldn't say this is exactly common, but it's not really uncommon either to fight an enemy without so much as taking a single step after just finishing the most recent). Digimon World 4, the sequel on the PS4, is my favorite multi-player game and would be in my top 10 of games in general - I can grind in that game for so long. Digimon is awesome! *hint hint* But enough about Digimon...
I will start chapter 4 as soon as I start the game back up (I've done everything necessary for chapter 3 to progress forward). Maybe I should have gone with Shallotte... I mean, it's not that I'm finding the game not fun; I guess it's that my mind is elsewhere? Meh. So yeah, your chances are looking to be in your favor for beating it before me - maybe you already have!
Yeah, for the PS3 Atelier games, friendship/friend levels increases faster when in your "active" battle party and not in the back row. That switch will probably work. I'm fond of Homura, and it's not only because he has the awesome Quick ability. I've gotten at least one friend event for Kortes, but yeah, they're mainly of Jurie. Join me on Hardcore! (Maybe on your Shallotte playthrough?)
I'm at the start of Chapter 3; I didn't play at all yesterday. I plan to make some progress today, but I'd also like to do some of my school work that I've been holding off due to, well, SPRING BREAK! I just got Homura, myself. I'm not sure what to think of the characters just yet, but I had a hard time picking Shallistera after learning more about Shallotte. I was soooo close to choosing the latter because I surprisingly related to her a lot, but decided against it because I already went in thinking I'd prefer Shallistera. With games that have multiple playable protagonists with their own stories, I have chosen correctly who I'd like best based on initial impressions every time, with only a singlular exception from a game I played a couple years ago (the game disappointed me, so I'm not gonna say what it is >D); I hope I'm not wrong again. I haven't gotten many friend events either, aside for a couple of Jurie. My biggest, present complaint for the game is the motivation system. It's probably because I'm playing on hardcore, and it's thus more difficult to manage, but I'm worrying about that more than the time system in prior games. >_<
I'm on chapter 2. One thing I find greatly annoying is that it always asks you if you'd like to start the next chapter when returning to your workshop and once you've completed the life tasks. No, I don't want to go to the next chapter yet! There's too much exploring, requests, and synthesizing to do, not to forget to mention to find every barrel and talk to it, as well as be in awe at the beautiful scenery! Couldn't they just ask you once, then say something like, "When you're ready to start the next chapter, talk to Old Guy."? I have other issues with the game, but I'll hold them off with the hopes they'll be present no longer when I get further.
