Yo CB. Is Berserk really that good? After reading the synopsis it sounds kinda boring. Boring as in too serious. I can watch animes like that and even enjoy them, but they're not exactly my preference. Like Shiguri: Death Frenzy. That mess was bloody and soooo dark, and I liked it, but I was kinda bored by the straight seriousness of it. I need some, "of snap!!" moments to keep me interested. Short attention span and all that
Yeah, same for me. I've always thought a manga is no match for a good animation. Even though the manga is awesome, there are many things there that would be priceless to see animated @_@
But I'm afraid Shigurui was not that popular in Japan, and to top if off it gets more and more gory (or disgusting, see the frog samurai lol), and even with a series like this the animated counterpart always tends to censore a bit.
On the other hand, they didn't make up an ending in the first season, so I want to believe there's hope!
Nice to know a fellow Shigurui reader! ^^ I just love the mood in this manga, it's so unique... It makes you feel that there's not a single decent human being in the world, all of them end up giving you at least a pair of reasons to think of them as scum... and yet they can't help it because of the era and place they live in.
And on a second note I really appreciate the gore as well, haha. The art is really good too.
I'm almost up-to-date with scanlations, there's just an available vol left for me to read, but I can't bring myself to read it... I just don't want to run out of Shigurui material >_<
Looks like the manga finished in Japan just a little while ago, so I guess I'll wait for the 15th volume to be scanlated.
