Konnichiwa minna-san,

my love for anime started with movies from Hayao Miyazaki which are popular everywhere. However, after having watched all of them, I had troubles to find other good anime to watch until I came across this website which helped me a lot.

Favourite anime: all anime with five stars - means my top five, then Animatrix, Ayashi no Ceres, Kemono no Souja Erin, Serial Lain Experiments, RahXephon, Seirei no Moribito, Fushigi Yugi, Skip Beat etc.

You can see from my top 5 list what anime I like - combination of fantasy, reverse harem, magic, action, adventure, romance, fun..I prefer anime with some message - about human's behaviour, about good and evil in us, about japanese history, about our planet, about consequences of our development, about global problems, about love to life etc..It is hard to say..my top 5 says it better.

If you have any recommendation for me, feel free to leave a comment and I will defininitely check it out^_^

Finally, I am sorry for any mistakes in english..please, let me know if you find something wrong.

Avatar: It's little Suzume from RK..and why did I pick such minor character? Because she is so cute and we really are alike!!..just kidding:-))

J-dorama: I watch jdorama as well..most of them are based on anime/manga, see my jdorama list here http://jdorama.com/viewprofile.44165.htm

I know there are some great korean dramas as well however I prefer japanese actors and listening to japanese..

I do...if and when I finish it and go back and edit the whole thing.  I write it solely for myself, though, so publishing would be an afterthought. =)

You assume too much, I think!  When I write reviews, they generally get edited, revisted, then edited again for quality (and I still miss things, which is why I have Sothis, Vivi, or another site reviewer look it over for me after I post.)  Writing well is not something acquired by going to a class and four months later being able to do so - it comes from practice, practice, and more practice!  I've been writing short stories, journal entires, longer stories, and poetry for many, many years, and only within the past year or two have I really started to become somewhat comfortable with it.

Remember, I have God knows how many hours critical writing under my belt (conversation is nice for building the basics, but moving to higher-level writing is especially difficult because you need to have a strong understanding of grammar and a very versed vocabulary) so it's not just a matter of me being a native speaker; native speakers have an advantage, sure, but the vast majority don't have the knowledge or skills to write on the level Sothis expects from site reviewers.  In fact, we get a lot of people that ask if they can write site reviews and we have to turn them away - what many don't understand, though, is that they're years of practice behind what's needed to write with a professional voice.  Time and repetition are needed to be able to develop a strong writing voice regardless of whether someone has tips on how to write good or not!  It's a very complex process. =)

As for my novel, it's currently about 4 years old and on its 5th iteration or so (meaning I've scrapped it completely and started from scratch four times!)  It's a medieval fantasy with a rather complex and deep plot that's hard to summarize - no matter how many times people ask me what it's about I can never really explain it! XD

Thanks!

Don't be discouraged because your English isn't good enough to write reviews - even most native speakers don't have the skills to write professionally/formally.  Keep in mind that I'm still learning and practicing with reviews myself, and I've been writing seriously for some eight years now and am a native speaker!  For most people being able to speak the language is enough - after all, I wouldn't be able to talk to you if you didn't speak it (keep practicing!) since I don't speak Czech. =)

Oh Sweet Sister Chamomille,

But we're not all that different! I LOVED Twelve Kingdoms, so much so that I watched it all in 3 day (thank god for there being different story arcs to break that one up) and Rurouni Kenshin, especially the OVAs.  See Sister, we all love a bit of eachothers anime!

Interestingly enough my top 5 is mostly some of the earliest anime I saw.

I'll probably change in back to Shannon eventually, but I currently love Kirino from Bamboo Blade - she's an awesome character - hence why she gets my avatar slot for the time being.  Plus, I myself prefer cute girls over handsome boys, so I think it works out better for me. ;)
