Hey, guys.

I'm CardcaptorKitty, or Sarah-chan, if you so prefer. I've been watching anime since I was about 9 or 10, when Speed Racer and Sailor Moon were still playing on Cartoon Network. A little later I became a fan of Cardcaptors and Pokemon, and when we finally got the internet in my household, I finally learned what all of these cartoons had in common. Then I found out some series had manga attached, so Sailor Stars was my first manga. When I was around 12, I started seriously investing in anime DVDs and manga, and my collection is still growing to this day.

When I was 14, I attended my first anime convention at Otakon 2003. I was grounded so I couldn't go in 2004, but since Otakon 2005, I've been a regular every year at Otakon since.

Anime's been very influential to my life, inspiring me to pursue majors in illustration and writing, along with learning Japanese. Heck, I'd even like to try acting so I can become a voice actor. Like many people, one of my dreams is to visit Japan.

I got into anime through originally goofy, almost completely rewritten 90s dubs, and when I found out the truth, I became a purist; now I've learned not to be so uptight. I usually watch anime with subs out of habit, but I have definitely enjoyed a fair amount of (good) dubs in the past few years. So now I enjoy both for what they're worth.

Magical girls are my favorite genre because they're what I grew up with. I find many of them uplifting and refreshing compared to many American comics and TV shows that have male stars. I dig fantasy and magic, so science fiction doesn't strike my fancy too much.

My ratings are based on my personal enjoyment; I don't rate the series critically or for the sake of other people. If I did, my ratings would be drastically different.
