I know it's...2 months late, but I'm glad you enjoyed my Jin-Roh review. In response to your concerns, that may very well be true, but it's not really practical to hold that a reviewer should be versed on every little tinge of backstory and related material regarding everything he/she reviews. When I watch anime, I pick up series/movies that interest me (whether it be personally or by recommendation or whatnot) and review them based on my experience. Jin-Roh may very well be spectacular to those familiar with the precise context, but I doubt the broad scope of viewers would fit in this class. Overall, I think I was more than fair to the movie, as it does have some issues irrespective of context. It is, all in all, a good film, and I believe that sentiment comes across in the review.
