Hello!

I am currently a sophomore in college pursuing a B.M. in piano performance, as well as a B.A. in English. It's an interesting life; I have to keep reminding myself of this.

My first anime love is shoujo, having fed my fantasies for several naive years in high school. Lately, though, I have been drawn towards less commercialized titles dealing with troubled individuals who struggle to find their better selves. I am constantly on the lookout for my next Post-Awesome-Anime Depression (coined by VivisQueen), so please let me know if you have any suggestions!

Wondering if you'd consider revamping the Lain entry? It's very very old, I wrote the synopsis myself when there were zero quality standards like 10 years ago, and the images are bad quality. By revamp I mean write an alternate description, and send in some screenies?

Thanks for the comment! Objectivity has always been an issue with me. Since anime is such a diverse art, and people value different things in anime, I've decided to go with a mostly subjective approach. My view is that as a reviewer, pepole are looking for MY opinion, rather than have me judge the anime from a mean scale of many differing opinions (although this might be a quite selfish and presumptuous view).

I have written some reviews of my own. I've even applied to be a site reviewer, although I have yet to receive a response despite applying months ago. My more recent reviews are much, much better than the ones I wrote earlier in the year, mostly since my ability to critically analyse improved beyond the simple "I liked it or I didn't."

As for Politics, I took a lot more theory-oriented stuff than history-related stuff. And I had no interested in American politics - everything was geared towards questions of global justice, conflict, and African development. So, actually, my knowledge of historical processes on the ground is weak. Talk to me about Mutual Assured Destruction, though, and I'll love to talk your head off! So tell me about these neo-European colonialists again?

And no, you don't necessarily have to break the habit of reading after watching. Sometimes it's nice to hear a bit of hype and then discover a show for yourself before reading other people's opinions. If I plan to review something, I never read other reviews until I've finished mine. Do tell me how you're liking it though - I'm very interested.

All hail Britannia! You're watching Code Geass, which makes me lol for some reason. So unlike your usual tastes. I look forward to seeing what you think.

Really enjoying it so far, there's more comedy than I was expecting, such good fun. Might actually help me out of the anime slump I've been in recently XD
