College ever looms closer...
Hey! I am BACK!
Dude, FMA:BH is freaking AMAZING. I've just binged out on 10 episodes and I'm like, brain frazzled. MADNESS!!!
Hey man, I'll be gone for the next 5 or 6 days on vacation. We'll be in Penn a while and then go up to Lake Eerie and live on some deserted island...I think. College starts a week or so after we get back. So begins the Life of Peter-san Season 2!
First of all, thanks for reading my blog post. Now that proper introductions are finished...
You're completely right. Death Note, for all its talk of moral qualities and "perfect" worlds, is very mild when it comes to cruelty. It will never be a story about the cruelty man doles out unto his fellow man in fits of power-driven insanity or sheer paranoia. Which is one of the themes of Higurashi, particularily in the first season. Higurashi was brilliant because it had no reservations; it didn't mind taking a character you'd grown to have a liking for over a couple episodes and have him beat the life out of his two closest friends. It sounds like Ryuukishi was aiming for shock value, and he probably was, but just as much as he was trying to show how terrifying humans can be.

But you're going to dislike the second season, please don't blame Ryuukishi, the author of the game the anime was based on. Blame Studio DEEN, who managed to completely screw up nearly everything that made Higurashi a godly awesome game series, instead of the awesome suspense anime it was
