Year Overview: 2013

28 DEC

This year has sure been an exiting year for anime. This year we had Attack On Titan, WATAMOTE, Pokemon: The Origin and a whole bunch more. This year, I've forgotten how many simulcasts I've watched, and I thought that most of them were from 2012. Like Devil Survivor 2, Amnesia, and more. Well, let's get this year on the road, with me saying my opinion on this years anime!

Worst Anime: Diabolik Lovers

You know, this doesn't even need an explanation on why this is bad. I mean look, all it was, was that some girl wondered into some place, gets raped by some vampires, and then some plot happens in the 7th episode. That's all.

Anime That Had A Strong Opening, But Then Broke My Heart: Kotoura-san

Don't get me wrong, this isn't a bad anime. It's just that the opening anime was really strong and sad. You felt really bad for the main character, but then the anime just turned into a slice-of-life, where the main girl just happened to be able to read minds. The humour just felt a little forced, and it wasn't exactly funny.

Most Cringe Worthy: No Matter How I Look At It, It's You Guys' Fault I'm Not Popular!

Oh man, the cringe in this anime. I paused it way to many times and waited weeks before I was able to get watch another episode. It was way to hard to watch it. Considering that it's supposed to be a comedy, this comedy was forceful. I think the humour in this was supposed to be that this girl is going through bad situations, except it instead made me feel bad for her. I just wanted to jump through the screen and hug her. I know that this is an anime, but why the hell isn't anyone even caring about her? I mean, the teachers I know would start calling me up if I never talked to anyone or never hanged out with other people. Heck, they would find it weird if I sat alone for just five minutes. This was just really hard to watch...

Also, this girl makes such stupid decisions. Like, terrible ones. Just makes me want to strangle her...

The Anime That Made Me RAAAAAAGE: Attack On Titan

Way to many cliff hangers, boring main character, and more. Revenge may be a great starting point, but it doesn't do anything. It kinda reminds me of Skip Beat!, except with a better character...

Anime That Didn't Leave A Great First Inpression: Chronicles of the Going Home Club

So damn boring. I watched a few episodes, and all it was, was basically K-On! in a nutshell...

Anime Where You Have No Idea What's Going On: Fantasista Doll

First episode ruined it. I literally had no idea what the heck was going on. All I got from it was, girl gets a special phone, can summon people, has to battle people. All, in the span of 10 minutes. The rest of the episode was a battle. I mean... nothing was even explained...

Now Time For The Positive Stuff!

Best Moe Blob: Non Non Biyori

Okay. This year had many condenders. Kirino Mosaic, Yuyushiki, Love Lab and a few more that I might of not even watched. BUT, the best IMO, is Non Non Biyori. Yes, it is still a cute girls doing cute things, but isn't everything else moe like this? But, considering that this is based not in a city like Tokyo or Hiroshima, and that this is based in a little village hours away from Tokyo. There really isn't anything for them to do. Also, who doesn't an anime where a first grader doesn't know how to say fairy?

Most Man Service: Free! Iwatobi Swim Club

It's pretty obvious, isn't it? I was expecting this anime to just be swimming and man service, but it actually has plot! Who would of known? It's actually a reasonable plot considering that the plot isn't th e anime's main goal, so I give it points for that. Also, this is a little message for Rei...

Personal Favourite: Log Horizon.

Before you ask, no. Just no. SAO in no way is better than Log Horizon. SAO was more of a fantasy world. LH actually feels like a game. Also, Shiroe is the best protaganist I've seen in a long time. He really deserves the name, 'Villain In Glasses'.

Kinda gives off an evil Doctor Tomoe from Sailor Moon vibe, doesn't it?

Also, this dude can stop people fighting in a confrence just by high-fiving the air.

Yes, this anime might not have the awesome production funds like SAO, but the story is better than the animation. Anime is just a form of telling a story. Not the story itself.

More stuff will be added when I feel like it...
