Hello world of Anime-Planet!

I am known as Alex-chan! From what you can tell of my list is I never discriminate against anime. I watch any series that comes my way, eventually, and I watch it all the way through to the best of my ability. I was taught a long time ago, how can you really judge something if you haven't experienced for yourself?

I love anime, manga, video games, cooking, arts and crafts, hiking, Roleplaying Games [as in D&D, Pathfinder, etc.], writing, academics, motherhood, etc. I am pretty random and adventurous, open-minded and crazy. If any of this appeals to you please send me a message or comment on my profile ^_^

In the near future I plan on creating a website for Anime&Manga reviews, along with Games, Novels, Cooking Tips, etc. Hopefully everyone will take a look and enjoy learning about me...I hope to learn about all of you too!!!

Love and Hugs,

First off, a warning.. the Blue Gender movie isn't very good. It's directed by the guy who made MD Geist and such, and Nick has seen it and says it's pretty awful, so be warned. It apparently doesn't explain anything or isn't really connected, just a sort of "alternate retelling" type deal. I haven't watched it yet but might soon if I get bored enough XD

Now, if I remember right.. as it's been about a year since I watched Blue Gender.. I think the DNA was supposed to sort of symbolize how Yuji was connected to the Blue. I want to say he was connected to the earth and was trying to convince it of a sort of "we are all together" type of message. I remember that scene... and I think, in a way, it's supposed to sort of let you speculate in a Miyazaki sort of way... I think it's supposed to leave you feeling like you don't understand it -- but that's sort of what the show is about. It's about the Earth "striking back" against Mankind, so Yuji is trying to resolve the problem so people can live in peace. I'll rewatch the last episode soon and maybe that'll jolt my memory more xP

And I totally agree. I loved the character development in the show.. that's part of why it stuck with me so much. Yuji is irritating at first, but he definitely grows into a "tough guy" and I really like how mature and dependable he became. Marlene is my favorite in development because, you're right, she went from super cold to actually showing her sensitive side but she never let it be a true hinderance to her, which I really liked. There's a lot of character types like that, but I think Marlene sticks out to me because if you look at the situation she goes through her changes pretty realistically, especially after being around Yuji. I guess one of my favorite parts of the show was their relationship, even though it's not a completely romantic based show, I liked the idea of romance in a fucked up world, haha.. And yeah.. Miyagi was pretty cool. I didn't truly hate him and agree.. I feel like it's the kind of show where there are different perspectives to be looked at, and that's another thing I liked. The 2nd Earth part was neat. I feel like the show never overstayed it's welcome in too many places -- every episode had a reason to be there, and I really enjoyed the final few episodes.

Thanks for the compliments on the recommendations >3< I was actually thinking about making a review blog where I review anime, movies, and maybe games and manga and/or books as well. It's actually kinda funny >.> It took me a while to write even the small little recommendations because I wanted to get across what I wanted to say without ranting, which I almost did XP so thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed them XD happy someone sees them. *pinch back* <3

I sort of felt for Minorin.. like, i understood her - she had mature reasons for doing what she did, she was realistic in a way but I think she was relatively selfish in a majority of the show. I enjoyed her choice at the end, but Nick and I both disliked her after she broke Taiga's christmas star. He hated her more than me and I think that's because of what you said - he didn't "get" her. Nick marathoned it with me... so yeah. :D

I actually liked the English dub of ParaKiss, but that's just me. XD; I might switch over to Japanese.. I dunno.. it wasn't an overdone dub or a spectacular one but I thought it fit for the show. Maybe I like it because I haven't gotten an attatchment to the characters like you - so I haven't assigned my own voices to them. I'll read it first, though. Gojiko Monogatari I found through torrents on um... geez.. I think anime suki or something. It's 50ish episodes so it took a while to get but.. oh well.. it's pretty cool XD; I've found a couple episodes just to watch online on a swedish site but the quality of the video is better when I downloaded it ^^ and, yeah, the xxxholic sequels are online but if I torrent it then delete it later I can enjoy a higher quality video or whatever.. and not have to wait for load times.. but some things I still watch online XD... like I said, I've mainly torrented old shows.. plus a couple hard to find/short things.

and yeah if that's the one in our trophies then I've been playing it ish.. I like Hinata mainly XD or Gaara.. blahhh... Glass Wings I actually bought when I was like... 13? 14? The art is gorgeous, but the story is really incoherent hence my rating. What I could understand of it was really beautiful, some scenes were really nice but it's like.. broken up into 3 or so stories, they're supposed to be interconnected but they're just more confusing than anything else. XD; but I liked looking at it in the very least... Nick and I are going to try and watch Sherlock soon.. we've been watching old black and white movies..  we started Shiki.. which is great horror but they have ridiculous hair.. just a warning... yeahhhhhhhhhh :D :D I've had like no sleep and had a NOS soooo really hyper

Oyyyy k sorry about the absolutely horribly slow reply. I meant to reply to you sooner - like, I've had in mind what I'm going to say to you but just haven't gotten around to it.  xD just been busy dog sitting and clinical-ing and schooling.. and shit...

anywayyyy though! I loved Toradora! I especially enjoyed the ending episodes... I like how they went from doing something somewhat immature (eloping to leave their responsibilities behind) to ending up doing the "right" thing. or the more mature thing. the entire series had very strong moments but I especially loved the end. It wasn't just an immature teenage romance like so many out there XD I was pleased. I liked the Christmas episode but, personally, I thought the kiss scene near the end was probably one of the cutest/best I've seen. It reminded me a little of Clannad mixed with School Rumble, although Clannad has some fantasy-esque moments -  but, *especially* in After Story, it has great similarities to the serious parts of Toradora and ... well, School Rumble and Toradora make me laugh equally XD; overall I was greatly impressed.

I've watched the first episode of ParaKiss and been meaning to watch more.. becase it's pretty and you do remind me of Miwako XD mainly in style.. I haven't seen enough of her character to know but I'll go read/watch that soon ^^.. I've been  wanting to read the manga.. I have like.. book four cause I got it cheap at a comic book store.. and.. speaking of Gokinjo Monogatari, while I've been meaning to read it, I did torrent the entire show XD; I try to only torrent shows that I can't buy/watch legally.. and, as such, I mainly have old shows on my computer. XD; like.. I have Gokinjo.. Cutie Honey from the 70s.. Rose of Versailles.. then the sequel to xxxHolic and a few other hard to find things.. I have an old mech show by the guy who made Gundam (Ideon!) for Nick.. so yeah.. my computer is mainly old shows as far as anime goes XD; just trying to get things that won't really get brought here.. which.. sadly.. is mainly old things. so yeah!

The Naruto Generations game is cool XD I think Nick got that one.. (I think) and I've played it and it's fun :D and.. I only knew Alakazam the Great was brought here/dubbed cause it was (not sure if it still is) on Netflix and I was like "O_o wut" and the post was entertaining to read.. sorry I was so late replying Dx

Are you watching anything new lately? My watch list needs to be updated ish.. I'll try to accurately update it soon.. ha.. it's not too much different but there's things I added in that I'm watching with Nick that I need to change.. etc.. etc.. blah.

xD i see i see. i've been considering area 88.. but hm.. now that I live with Nick, my anime watching has been funny since he sits me down all the time with different things... we've been watching a lot of short ovas together.. or anime movies.. like he showed me Kite and I showed him Mardock Scramble which are sort of in the same lieu of things.. I'm "watching" more than what's on my list because I don't want to overload my list and most of those things I've only watched an ep or two of because he just showed me them xD i'll add them on my list when I get to seriously watching them.. hmmm... I am trying to finish Fist of the North Star.. and am halfway there, not counting Fist 2 which is basically just more of the show but it's a "sequel" even though.. in the manga.. it's just what came next.. it wasn't made because of success of the original or anything.. though it isn't really necessary either XD; but halfway to finishing the original show.. woo! it's actually quite good where i'm at, although it's sort of sad too. and I dunno.. just random things.. got a couple cool board games I'd love to play with you >.< they're more cooperative games, but one is based on the knights of the round table and the other is based on ghosts.. the ghost one is the HARDEST THING EVER... played it till 2 AM and didn't win.. >_<
